Excellent Hilti PD 42 laser rangefinder for measuring distance accurately. Great device. Has a built in optical scope that shows you where the laser is hitting in sunlight. Essential to have this in bright light. I have used the Disto D5/D8 with its'camera' and prefer the optical finder on the Hilti PD42, also the Disto takes a long time to start up(~5secs) but the Hilti is instant. It also has 2 built in spirit levels, so functions for leveling on both axis. The internals are licensed by Hilti from Leica, so there's no difference in that department. Perfect working order. Mine since new. Not ex-contractor or surveyor/architect on dusty construction sites. Used for photography only, never dropped or damaged. How do you describe this product? I saved 100's of hours using this item to measure everything from rooms and closets to huge commercial spaces for my painting business. I originally purchased it to measure a flag pole I had to paint. So I knew what size lift to rent to paint the pole to the top. It has a triangle type algorithm to measure the distance of the flag pole from a fixed location, just like the length of a huge commercial building from across a pond. I have retired from the paint contracting business and no longer need this powerful device. Rather than me typing out all the specs.
