This is out of the estate of an elderly inventor electrical engineer and looks like he put batteries in it when it was new and never used it again. Had minor battery leak but cleaned up ok without damage. See pics. Obviously was not used. I have already got two of these, one of which I have used for 20 years and never had a problem with it.Works on several types of Freon including R12 and 134a. I haven't even used the spare tip that comes with all of them. Only thing you have to be careful of is not to turn them on with the tip off the wand or it will mess them up.Batteries not included but I did test it and it works like new.
