Antique all metal coffee grinder
Nice antique coffee grinder- all metal. Dusty& a little rusty. As found condition. Pull out drawer and bottom of mechanism have some rust. Crank turns mechanism freely. Missing some part on the top where you pour in the coffee beans. Has a handle on the left side which folds back. Looks like it originally had some sort of label on the front, which is long gone. Metal Apothecary Grinder Pharmaceutical Tool
Offered for auction is this metal Apothecary Grinding Tool with consists of two components. A metal"cup" which measures approximately 5" tall and 4" wide at the mouth and a grinding"stick" which measures approximately 5" long. Both components are metal, silverish in color with the inside of the jar black in color. There are no markings on the bottom of the jar, only advertising on the outside of the jar. One side of the jar has a portrait and says Daniel B. Smith, 1792-1883; the other side of the jar says First President of American Pharmaceutical Association Co- Founder of Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. The inside of the jar is clean and in great condition with a rough patch from where the grinding tool was probable used. This is a very old. Marked, molded in the metal, No. 5 KEYSTONE" Made in U.S.A. C.I. Co. Boyertown, PA" meat grinder. It is all metal construction except for the handle which is wood. It does turn freely and is in good overall condition. It comes completely apart for cleaning and the only areas of rust are some occasional rust spots on the body of the grinder, some darkening of the crank handle, Overall rusting on the clamp screw, some minor rust to the grinder plate& on the thumb screws that hold the handle and grinder plate intact. See photos to see this rust. It only has one grinder plate with it. It measures from top of hopper to bottom of clamp screw 9" long. Vintage Spice Nut Grinder With Glass Jar. Removable Red Metal Cap, Turn Key Vintage spice grinder is in very good to excellent used condition. Glass jar is in excellent condition; looks like it has hardly been used. If ever. There are no cracks or stains; there is a tiny pin point chip are top edge(found when I ran finger around edge-almost missed because it so tiny) Jar is different from others that I've seen listed. It sides are flared in strips that increase slightly from top to bottom and run 3" the length of the jar. Under the strips are 1" raised thumbprints that circle the jar. Then there are 3 bands that finish up the sides of the jar. The bottom of the jar has sunburst pattern with"6" in the center. There are no other markings on the jar to identify the maker. Jar measures 6" from top to bottom. Grinder ... moreis in very good to excellent condition. There is loss of red paint along the edge and slight discoloration of silver portion. Inside is shows either nutmeg residue on a couple of tines and along one edge spot or slight rust(not sure which since it is very nutmeg/cinnamon colored. Grinder works by turn the turn key which is in excellent condition. Red cap is in good condition for its age. There is loss of red paint on outside. Inside shows some rusting. Cap is removeable. It has 2 groves on each side that fit down over the turn key. Grinder is very nice and is in very good to excellent condition for its age. Shipping is $7 for priority shipping. Here is a really great. Very heavy rotating set of wheels, or discs on bearings with hardened grinding teeth on each wheel. I was told that this was used in a very old mill to debark logs. This is a very serious, super well built, heavy duty piece of machinery that I understand rotated at a fast speed. When the hardened teeth.lots of them, came into contact with the bark on a log, or anything else, it violently ripped it off. This would make a great piece of yard art as is, or in combination with other pieces. How about a kinetic mobile? On end it would be a VERY heavy-duty and impressive hanger for jewelry, shop tools, etc. If you had to buy the hardened teeth, bearings and metal in this beast, not to mention the work in welding it together, it would cost many times what my minimum bid is.
