This sander is model# 6101 and it comes from the"Heavy Duty" line of vintage B&D tools that had a solid steel housing. Although this sander has been used. It still works great. It has a 7.0 AMP motor and is capable of producing 4500 RPM. These sanders were definitely built to last and are almost indestructible. The only minor flaw is that the cord has been wrapped/patched with electrical tape. The sander has been vacuumed and wiped down, so it is free of loose dust/junk. Vintage Black and Decker Heavy Duty 7" Disc Sander. Working. Serial numbered. NR
I found this gem tucked away while cleaning my parents house. It is a Black and Decker brand Heavy Duty 7" disc sander. It is 100% made in the United States of America. It is very heavy and very well built. It still works and is nice because it spins at a slower rate(4200 rpm) than some people might be used to with a grinder but with plenty of torque so it doesn't get loud and'whiney. Not sure if the power cord is original but it is extremely long; I am thinking it is replaced/refurbished because of the newer style plug on it but I am no expert. The serial number is 652327. 8 amps, type"T" and 110 Volts. I did some preliminary web searches and it seems like this model was made in the 1940's. So this is definitely something special and not likely to pop up on ebay very often. Tested and fully functional. Does not ... moreinclude any accessories or attachments. Does not include key.
