Whether you are coming to fish or spending a week in Park City plan a couple days for fly-fishing on the Green River.

We are avid fly fishermen and have been fishing the rivers around Park City Utah all our lives. We encourage, support and practice catch and release fishing. There are several streams and rivers in northern Utah. Fly-fishing trips range from half day to three day over night river float trips. We have fly fishing equipment for rent if needed. Full day trips include lunch, soft drinks & water. Local overnight trips include two meals the first day and last day, three meals on other days. We can help make room arrangements at Red Canyon Lodge, Flaming Gorge Lodge or supply tents for camping during your fly-fishing experience on the Green River.
We can put together a “cast and blast trip” where we pheasant hunt one day and fly-fish one or two days: stay in the new remodeled 2 bedroom Snow Country condo in downtown Park City. Use your imagination, we can create an experience you’ll always remember.

LOCAL FISHING: There is good flyfishing 15-minutes out of Park City and even more within 2-hours. The Provo and Weber Rivers are very close, with several others east of Park City. We know where to go and what time of year to be there. Please take a day to experience the outdoors surrounding Park City. You can flyfish any season on the scenic Provo River because it doesn’t freeze due to temperature control.

Melting snowpack from the Wind River Mountains give rise to the Green River, Wyoming’s second longest. After flowing south over 700 miles, the Green enters into the Colorado River ... moreand is considered by many to be this river’s headwater. Supposedly named by 16th century Spanish explorers for its clear color, a mystery since most people say it looks quite the same as the murky Colorado, the river ran basically unimpeded until the early 1960’s when the Fontenelle Dam was completed. One year later another dam was built in Dutch John, Utah, which flooded the scenic, red-rock Flaming Gorge for nearly 90 miles, creating a deep-water fishery famous for its monster lake trout and trophy browns.

Despite man’s effort to tame the Green, over 150 miles of the river still run free. Set between the Bridger-Teton National Forest and Bridger Wilderness area, the remote river basin has retained its rugged, pristine, scenic beauty. Locals joke that there are more elk, bear and deer in residence than people, a fact attractive for those seeking an authentic, fly fishing experience. Fishing is thought to be best during the late summer and fall seasons when there are prolific mayfly and caddis hatches and trout is plentiful, including the native Colorado River cutthroat.

Pinedale, a small resort town on US 191, is the primary hub for the upper Green River, attracting anglers from as far as Jackson. Another small town, Green River located on I-80, services sportsmen along the lower portion of the river. Fly shops are in abundance and guides are widely available at both locations.
Outfitter
Park City Outfitters is owned and operated by Brandon Bertagnole. The family has lived in Park City, Utah for four generations. In 1989 we started a small Hunting Guide business for ... morebig game on our private ranch of 8,000+ acres. The ranch is located just 30 minutes from Park City and 45 minutes from the Salt Lake City airport.

Due to the success of the guided services, we have expanded our operations in early 2000, to offer you guided fly fishing trips in Park City, Utah trips on the renowned Provo River and the beautiful Green River, Utah, below Flaming Gorge Dam.

We offer guided fly fishing trips on other local waters near Park City and upland bird hunting, for a Cast and Blast guided 2-3 day fishing and hunting trip on the Green River and a private pheasant ranch. Brandon has hosted Bill Gorman and Tim Rajeff on the OLN channel, LL Bean Outdoors opening show, in 2005.

We have completed an extensive remodel on our Park City condo located at the intersection of Park Avenue and Deer Valley Dr. and within walking distance to Park City Ski Resort, restaurants, shopping and only 1 mile to Deer Valley Ski resort, via free bus system.

The location of Snow Country Condos is perfect for access to Sundance film activities, ski, golf or booking a fly fishing trip on the spectacular Provo River.
