This a very unique grain or seed cleaner I purchase at a farm sale. It is hand made and it doesn't look like it was every used. It looks like it was made from metal screen. Press board, duct tape and wood. It's painted white and has the initials K E printed on it. This piece just caught my eye at the sale. I think it would a great display and conversation piece. It is approx. 15 inches long, 10 inches high and the barrel is 10 inches long and has a diameter of 8 3/4 inches. You are bidding on the Top Box of a Vintage Clipper Fanning Mill manufactured by the A.T. Ferrell& Co. The clipper cleaner was used as a big capacity grain. Seed, and bean cleaner. It was designed for the fast cleaning for market or storage or treating your own seeds. I purchased this last week at an estate sale. The top feed box was the only item at the sale. I have not attempted to clean it up. The paint and printing is faded some. But still clearly visible. It is in solid shape with only one minor defect.the wooden rail that keeps the slider in place is nearly gone. It would be nothing to put a thin strip of wood back in. Other than that it functions perfectly and you can adjust how wide of an opening you want. Nice unit. Spins nicely, needs at least 1/3 or more HP electric motor(not included) auger in picture IS included. Used, looks like all normal wear and tear to me. Screen is patched in many places(7-9) with what looks like fiberglass to me, still looks like it would clean just fine to me. Screen material looks good.
