This iconic and rare surgical corn knife(so called because it was originally developed to remove foot corns) Is more than 100 years old and in amazingly fine shape! The handle is made from celluloi d. Sometimes called"first plastic" and made from cellulose and other natural products. It was invented in the late 1 800's to make bil liard balls and other hard products. On the knife blade it reads" J. Koesster's Sons. Germany" on one side(the knife maker) and"Horrell-Shapleigh Howe. Up for auction is a Tracheotomie Field Surgical Kit that I acquired from an estate a while back. I don't know anything about these kits. I thought it was interesting so I purchased it. It appears to be new. All the instruments look unused. There are German words on it and a few series of numbers. The cloth is whiter than some of the pictures show(bad lighting) The case is stainless steel and intact, it has some minor scratches/dings. Can't say for sure it's from WWII. Please view all the pictures and ask any questions before bidding. Up for auction.vintage 1930's operating room surgical light"Operay Multibeam" from Operay Laboratories in Madison. Wisconsin. I believe this was a floor model originally and would have sat on a tall cast iron stand. These lights are extremely collectable. The light socket bulb on the inside shines on 6 inner mirrors which reflect through the glass ports on the head on to 6 outer mirrors which are all set to pinpoint one area of lighting. As with many surgical lights, the head is perfectly balanced with a counterweight lever on the opposing end. This example is the original ... moremade by Operay Labs. It is in vintage condition: missing the 6 flat mirrors which attach to the arm assembly and 2 of the glass jewels or port glass circles on the head assembly. It is also missing the explosion proof globe from the top. The mirrors are all present mounted on the inside. I am selling the light"as is" and present no guarantees as to the operational aspects. I honestly do not know what this thingy is. And do not find a like item on the internet. There are no markings on it. It measures 3-1/2" long, expands from closed to 2" wide. My guess is it is some type speculum, or surgical cut expander. Feel free to tell me what to call it.

Albert Sidney Aloe was in business for himself in St. Louis from 1867- 1876 as A.S. Aloe. When he went into partnership and changed the company name. This lasted until 1880, when he was back by himself as A.S. Aloe& Company. I'm sure this forceps is from his first company venture. It is heavy duty and long. Measuring 12" It was possibly used for extracting bullets, as well as other uses. Good condition with slight finish wear, hinge point is tight with no wear play, and works freely.

We used this case for Civil War reenacting in medical service and collected the instruments from flea markets and antique shops. Vintage Antique Medical Veterinary Surgical Tools Blades with Case
For your consideration is this rare antique surgical kit with tools and knife blades as shown. The tools do have tarnish. Rust and spots of plating loss and are coming to you as found. I have no good knowledge of the use or what is there or missing. The velvet lined case displays the set nicely especially the blades, really intimidating! There are 10 loose instruments, all metal with one having an ebony wood handle. The item in the next to last photo has a split down the back side of the tube. Overall the case measures 16" x 18" x 4" and is solid and in pretty good shade. The latches on the case work well but do not have keys. 19th Century Physician’s Surgical Trepanning Kit in Original Wood Locking Case
This is an original 19th Century physician’s surgical trepanning kit in the original wooden locking case. This kit contains the trepanning drills. A saw, a brush, a scalpel, and a wedge. This comes in the original fitted plush lined case, with lock and key. This kit belonged to Dr. Neri Barndt Williams, of Perkasie, physician and druggist, who was born in Easton, Pennsylvania on February 12, 1863. There is a handwritten notation on the label on the box recording that Cyrenious gave it to his son N.B. A business card for Neri B. Williams was also found with this kit. Neri or N.B. was the son of Dr. Cyrenious and Margaret(Barndt) Williams, of Easton, both of whom are natives of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. On the paternal side he is of Welsh descent. We found Neri Brandt in the 1910 census, listed as a 47 yr old doctor in Perkasie, PA; in 1920, ... morehe was listed as a 55 yr old doctor with a general practice. CONDITION: Very good and complete.
