I am selling a very nice pair of Dynaco Mk-3 mono block tube amps. They have been upgraded with boards from VTA( Vacuum Tube Audio- tubes4hifi.com) using their PCB(new tube sockets. Updated components, great sound! Original transformers(very important as Dynaco old iron was the best! New RCA input jacks, new speaker binding posts, new power cords. Includes instructions from VTA for build info and tube biasing. VTA is still available for info and consulting if you choose to try other tubes also. Amps use(2) KT-88 tubes each(these are NEW from Electro-Harmonix) 2) 12au7 pre-drivers(these are USA made- NOS) 1) GZ34(new JJ included) I also have a few spare tubes( 1 or 2 of the KT-88's) And a few extra 12au7's. The only issue of note is when they were being rebuilt, one of the bias resistors was burnt(since replaced and NO issues) but with prolonged listening, there will be a very slight burnt odor from one. I don't notice much anymore, but wanted to mention for full disclosure. I use these to run either Spendor. Tyler Acoustics, or Celestion monitors and the sound is fantastic. Great imaging and I can listen to these for hours without any fatigue. The 50 watts rms output per amp is more than plenty to drive most moderately efficient speakers. I am only selling because I have a few other amps and a friend is looking to sell me another amp before he moves. I can't listen to all of them. It comes with 20" bar and chain and also a 16" bar and chain with lots of life left. Scrench, 2gallon 2 cycle mix, safety bar tip guard. Runs great. No issues. Very few minor scuffs or scratches from use. Couple of spots on engine cover above muffler from heat. I ordered a new echo oem non cat muffler and installed on it. I dont like the epa cat mufflers. Better performance and longer engine life without the catalytic converter. Engines run cooler. Muffler was for a earlier model cs-450 saw prior to the new regulations. The handle has a feature that doesn't allow it to go past the perpendicular stage. It stops at 90 degrees. The white enamel dial looks great with the name Schreve. Crump, Low in small letters. Delicate, original moon hands. The beveled clear glass panels, back, front& sides are all perfect, which is a rare thing to find. The movement is numbered. It's clean& bright. The platform escapement is seen through a perfect clear oval beveled glass window. The metal of the platform looks oxidized but it gives more an appearance of damaskeening. Time capsule Husky! Found in a garage where it had been for over thirty years by someone buying a vintage snowmobile from the original owner's family. He bought it along with the snowmobile. Puttered with it and cleaned it up while he waited for some penetrating oil to loosen the stuck piston. When that didn't work, he lost interest and I was able to buy it. With a lot of patience, I got the cylinder off and found the engine was hardly used. The rod is snug and the main bearings clean and smooth. I found an original NOS standard piston kit, honed the cylinder and reassembled it with a new wrist pin& needle bearing. After cleaning the residue of old fuel& oil out of the carburetor and tank, replacing the ignition-side crank seal and putting in new points& condenser, it started right up and sounded great. No unusual noises ... moreand the clutch and transmission worked just fine. Unfortunately, after riding it up and down the street a couple of times, it began to smoke heavily and run rich-sure signs that the old clutch-side crank seal had failed. I confirmed the diagnosis by draining the gear oil, running it briefly and the smoking immediately stopped, so it needs a left crank seal. Although it's only a $10.00 part, it's a bigger job to open the engine to change it than I'm in the mood for. My main interest is older British motorcycles and I have a vintage Triumph all apart on the bench, so I'm going to pass the Husky on to someone who grooves on them. The 450WR was Husky's new model for 1972. With the largest, most powerful engine. They were popular bikes for woods riding, Cross-County events and enduros. Their main reputation is as a torque monster; they are superb in hilly terrain and can just tractor up anything. They also made a CR(close ratio) motocross version whose only difference other than the gear spacing was having a Motoplat ignition unit instead of the Femsa magneto in the WRs.
