Up for bids is a large woodworking round nose router or drill bit as pictured marked ZZ 1116- 2 1/2" on the shank. This came inside a box of tools I bought at an estate sale and I know nothing about it. The shank has a 3/8" diameter which varies on the end to adapt to a chuck size from 1/4" up to 1/2" Overall length is 7 1/4" It looks like it may have been used a once or twice but it is still very sharp and overall in very good condition. These bits came out of an estate sale. And I do not know their history. As you can see in the picture, they have some surface rust(some more than others) They range in size from from 1-1/4 to 2 inches in diameter on the top with a 1 inch hole on the other end. Used Tricone rotary rock bit for drilling. Cones move but have some resistance. Teeth seem to look in decent but good condition. Threads also in good condition. Markings on the top of the bit are( 4 1/2 W 7 65270) The threads on the top of the bit are cone shaped and measure 2" at the top and 2" 9/16" at the bottom. Believe this bit can be used again for drilling or as a collectable item on the mantle or mancave. Bit has been cleaned and painted to prevent further rust. Shipped USPS. This rare device can save you hundreds. If not thousands of dollars by putting in your own shallow well water system.I know, because I put 2 wells in using this very tool. It works great! It breaks down into 5 seperate pieces, and when all connected up using 1/4" nutted bolts it will bore a hole 13 ft, 4-5/8" deep. At this depth the tools oscillating knuckle is at ground level. Once you've reached this depth, If you then wish to, you can widen out the first 2 feet down from ground surface using a common hand operated post hole digger to a width just wide enough for the knuckle to pass below ground level about another 2 feet where at this point you will be maxed out at the top part of the T-handle, giving you a hole depth of about 15 ft, 4-5/8" This makes driving down your sand point and pipes so nice.You basically tap the ... morepoint down with ease through your ready made hole clear to its bottom, and then some 10 to 15 more feet driving harder with your heavy hand held well driver, and presto, you have reached water good for drinking as well as every other use. I dont know if this was professionally home-made or from a factory as I've never seen another. Has the name.National U.S.A. on it in a couple of places.
