Offered is a vintage BUCKINGHAM TREE. POLE, UTILITY CLIMBING BELT. The belt measures about 42" long to the end hole and 34" to the tightest hole; there are nine holes each an inch apart; however, I wear a 38" belt, and this belt is tight on me probably because of the very thick leather. The condition is used but quite good and has some wear on the edges of the belt. It is marked on a green metal tag with BUCKINGHAM Size 22, Date 897, P/N ER. Also included is a heavy canvas bag 8" x 9" x 2" with straps for fastening to the belt and an outside pocket. This bag is cotton, made in India, and is reinforced at the bottom with a suede type leather. This belt is a very usable safety belt, sold as is, and MADE IN THE U.S.A. Vintage Military M Klein & Sons Vietnam Era Tree Climbing Gear Spurs Belts
This is a vintage set of tree climbing gear that was supposedly used by a Marine Corps sniper in Vietnam. I cannot vouch for the truth in this. But he had no reason to lie to me either. What we have are the left and right spur that definitely needs new straps. They are both stamped 16 M.Klein& Sons. They will need new padding as well. One belt is definitely military. But has no markings other than S1.69(very hard to read) stamped in black ink on the belt. The second belt has a brass manufacturer's tag that says Mine Safety Appliance Company, Pittsburgh, PA 1949. This is an old pair of Klein& Sons tree climbing spikes(as identified by the long spikes) with calf pad& strap and belt. The belt does have a broken leather strap that was for something(in the main picture. It is the strap on the left between the belt and the spike) Auction includes all parts shown. The spikes have a stamped model number of 1907. True made it the USA quality. The leather is old, probably not in good enough shape for actual climbing. If you have any questions, please ask.

BUCKINGHAM 1379 SADDLE Floating dee ring. Double thick cotton webbing reinforced w 1 3/4" nylon on back and seat sections, leather lined 1 3/4" grommeted leg straps, 1 3/4" steel ring and accessory snap on each side. The 3120 Rivet-less pad with a built in tunnel design. A soft leather is used against the leg. All leather construction with 3/4" padding. The original Buckingham tree climber is now available with a ring for strap attachment. The Permanent Gaff is 3 1/2 inches(89mm) long. Stirrup is standard width unless specified otherwise.
