Klein-Buhrke 5228 Linesman Pole or Tree Climbing Utility Belt w Strap Good Used
Lightly used climbing belt w strap. Both in very good condition. Aluminium tag reads Klein-Buhrke, Model 5228, Serial 54357, Date Mfg 1-70. Although this is an older belt, it is very well made and has been kept in great condition. Well padded with heavy duty ring and clips. Leather is still solid but pliable, stitching and rivets are all tight. Please view all my photos and you'll see how nice this belt is. Fastened in the outer hole, waist belt measures 45" around the inside and can be used up to 8 1/2" smaller- 36 1/2" at tightest hole. Previous owner has added an extra hole between the first and second tightest holes. Looks like previous owner has cut off two leather tabs of some sort that would have hung at lower left and right on the belt(see photos) Pole strap is 1 3/4" wide heavy reinforced nylon( and is shown ... moreat 52" total length with lots of adjustment left in either direction. If you need me to be more specific as to length adjustments please ask. Heavy duty hooks/closures, all rivets are tight and I see no cuts or worn spots. All buckles, straps, rings and stitching is in Very Good Condition. The belt indicates Karl Kuemmerling, Inc as the manufacturer, TYPE 2, 7-93, 211-477-3457 and an ANSI A10.14.1991. I layed the belt flat and measured to the hook end of the inside of the buckle from the first hole is about 30"s and the last hole is about 37-1/2"s. I wear a 36" waist and can barely get the last hole buckled with no strap left to tuck in. Buckingham Tree Pole Lineman Climbing Belt and Bashlin Lanyard
This is a Buckingham climbing belt and a Bashlin Industries Lanyard. The belt is a size 28. I do not know what the size chart is for the sizing. I have a size 33 waist and this belt is too big for me in the smallest hole by a couple of inches. I would guess it a 35-36 up to a 43-44 waist size. It is dated 11/98 and it is in excellent condition. The lanyard is a Bashlin. It is made of two very heavy leather straps sewn together with what looks like may be a nylon material between the leather straps. It has the numbers 78-C on it. It is adjustable from 4 foot to 6 foot. I would rate it in good condition for it's age as well. Because of the nature of these items they are being sold"as is" no warranty is expressed or implied. VINTAGE ATLAS SAFETY BELT This vintage atlas safety belt measures 52" End to end. It is 1 3/4" wide. It is made of yellow nylon, double thickness for 1/2 the length, has copper rivets and a D style hookup. This vintage belt was made in New York in December 1972. It has a brass plate riveted to the belt near the buckle that reads: Atlas Safety Equip. Co. Inc. 175-179 N. 10 St. Brooklyn. N.Y. 11211. No. 252. 12-72. New York State. B.S.A. Approval No. 2866. The stitching is worn near the rivet. Maybe 3 inches of double stitching, otherwise the belt is in really nice condition for being over 40 years old. If you have any questions. VINTAGE MELLING LINEMAN TREE CLIMBING BELT SPIKES ANTIQUE TELEPHONE TELEGRAPH
I got these from the estate of a guy that worked on the Rock Island railroad. I would assume they were for doing repair work on the telegraph lines that ran along the track. Leather is old and dry. Neetsfoot oil or other good shoe oil would make them a lot nicer. Old vintage equipment that I am sure was fine when it was retired. But I would not sell it for use and consider it a collector's item only out of safety concerns. I would have loved to had this setup when I was a kid!
