Sheet Music: RICHFIELD CHRISTMAS CAROLS (1958) Richfield Gasoline promo, nice!
Remember Richfield gas stations from the 50's and early 60's? Well. Like all gas stations back then, they put out lots of promo items to attract customers. Aside from Blue Chip Stamps, they put out records, comics, tins, and assorted other goodies. One of them was this Christmas music book with 11 popular Christmas songs in it, and some reproduction vintage Christmas artwork. While the booklet isn't dated, a stamp on the back shows a phone number of the gas station giving this out as DL-3 whatever. Prefixes haven't used the two letter sequences like that since the early 60's. Most probably this came from around 1958 or so. It is a very cool piece of ephemera collectible on Christmas fronts, sheet music fronts and gas station promo fronts. Very desirable, and in excellent condition. I am not a professional grader. But this ... moremusic sheet visually appears to be very good++ or VG++, and very possibly better. Covers are nice, corners sharp, pages and paper smooth, almost like new. Color is nice, no tanning or paper brittleness. Beautiful condition! This sheet music will be sent in an acid-free bag and board. In my shop. For your bidding I have an Esso Gasoline lighted Pam wall clock. Measuring 15” square the clock face is newly produced and in mint condition. The graphic are great with the Tiger along with the slogan“Put a Tiger in Your Tank” The clock was stamped with a date of build July 1975 which was at the end of the Pam Clock Co existence. It was common that these clock were often incomplete nor finished as was the case with this clock both inside and outside were not painted and the back cover was missing. To prepare the clock for sale I painted the outside and added the light cover. The clock needed a new bezel as well. Overall the clock is in excellent condition as it runs well, lights up, is clean, is quiet and maintains accurate time as expected. From what I can glean off the internet is that it was a contraption/ Converter that was not really a atomiser for gasoline but they said it gassified gasoline low pressure system kind of like a Coleman lantern Generator to run gas light heaters stoves etc and could be conducted throughout the house or building/ RR Car much like a city Gas Plant. Easy to read stenciled around the front reads ELECTRIC TORCH. DANGLER STOVE. I would date this lamp to the 1890s to early 1900s. A lamp. Is pictured in the 1902 Sears Catalog. These type of lamps were used for many purposes. They were used for Chuck wagons, camping, outdoor lighting for events. They were used by workers that excavate. Even some ships and trains used these. This is nice because it is American made. This is old and condition is really good for age. It appears complete. There is some rust. Some dents in the fuel reservoir. Both of the valves turn but are a little tight. I would NOT use this until professionally inspected. The fittings and valves are over ... more100 years old. Vintage Phoebus 625 camping stove +Spare Burners Austria Gasoline Kerosene
If you are looking at this auction. You probably are already familiar with the classic Phoebus 625 camp stove. It has been a worldwide favorite for years and continues to have a devoted following despite being out of production for 30 years or so(in Austria) I will spare you the technical details, much of which has been written about this stove, but if you have any questions, feel free to contact me. This particular stove is well used with plenty of wear. Grime, flaking decals and a few rust spots, but it should be a good user stove once it is given a good going-over. I have not used it for years, nor have I tested it recently, so I am going to say you will need to give it some TLC before it will function safely. That said, the burner that is fitted has a smooth-turning valve spindle and good cleaning needle, and the pump leather is not dried ... moreout. The tank is sound. They must have used good steel in these, as I have never seen one with a rusted out bottom. The stove itself is currently fitted with a burner with the"E" or kerosene jet. Also included are 2 spare burners. Made at different times, note one has the flatted surfaces for a wrench) but both with the correct thread style for this stove. One burner has the E jet, the other has the G(gasoline) jet. Not sure why I have all these burners, but I think some were German Army surplus, hence the use of Kerosene jets. I find the stove functions well on both kerosene and Coleman fuel, but it can be a bit finicky on Kero in cold weather. Also included is a packet of spare parts and a pile of instructional leaflets. Not all of which are original to this stove. In the spares packet, there is a spare E jet, and a cleaning needle that appears to go to an earlier style burner. Astute Phoebus users will note that the style of cleaning needles, valve arrangement and burner threads changed over the years, and they are not all interchangeable. I don't guarantee that these spares will work for all burners! Storage tin has some scratches and dents. But is not too
