Vintage Eagle Gas Can 2-1/2 gallon Galvanized Steel Red Metal Rubber Spout Lids
This auction is for a used vintage 2- 1/2 gallon Eagle gas can. It is a model 2-1/2 A and is made of 26 gauge galvanized steel. It has two original steel screw caps and an additional rubber pour spout with end plug. The rubber spout is ideal for filling small engine tanks as you can easily adjust the flow to a dribble. I do not know when it was made but it is obviously vintage. This gas can is in good used condition. It has scratches and paint chipping throughout. But most of the original paint is intact. The top has a dent about 2" from one side of the handle. It is not dented at the handle. The rubber vent is missing from the large screw cap. The rubber spout and end plug are in good condition. The end plug fits tightly and I seasoned with oil. The inside looks clean with no rust. The inside has smells of gas. I have not tested this ... morecan because it has no obvious problems. It obviously will leak where the rubber vent cap is missing when full or tilted. This is a very nice gas can that will work well, but it needs a rubber vent plug. This will be shipped USPS priority mail with insurance included. I have a nice Eagle"The Gasser" 2 1/2 gallon metal gas can. It is leakage tested and there are no leaks. The spout does not leak when you pour it. It has a cap for the spout. It is vented by a rubber button on the the top of the main cap which you push every few seconds to vent the air. I tried it and it works good. It is in good shape I would say with only surface scratches which I have tried to picture on every side. I charge only actual shipping charges. Shipping rates stated are only estimates. The name EAGLE and U.S. PAT. 3.047,195 are embossed on the sides of the spout. This measures approximately 6-5/8" in length(from the top of the cap to the end of the spout) The cap has a galvanized metal finish look and has an approximate measurement of 1-3/4" O.D. This has no plug. The cap end has a built-in screen. The spout is flexible and I did not see any cracking in the rubber.
