The rear of the chassis has suffered oxidation that will require a bit of TLC- still t his unit looks complete. And the face and meters are actually very nice! The rear layout and chassis need extensive detailing and surely a go-over on the bench- for parts or restoration, this elite piece of Gates will be well worth your time. Here is one(1) used and tested Kenyon Model T-489 Modulation Transformer. The windings have been tested for continuity and for shorts. And they appear to test fine. I found the following specifications on the Internet for this unit: The Kenyon T-489 is rated at 15 watts audio(primary) to a 30 watt RF input power to the final amplifier(secondary) class C load. The primary impedance is 2K to 20K ohms. And it will match a class C load impedance of 200 to 20K ohms. Fully sealed and potted construction, and typical Kenyon very high quality construction. Sorry, no further specifications were available to me. This transformer is in fair. Used cosmetic condition, with the usual wear and tear to be expected of an item of this age. This is a really cool old digital delay unit that makes a lot of sounds varying from warm repeats. To flanging, doubling, chorusing, to completely out of control video game noises. It also has a limiter that you can overload, creating a really cool, dirty distortion. This particular one is a little beat up(see the photos) missing two knob ends(just the caps on the end) and the 256 button doesn't seem to work reliably(I'm sure someone with knowledge of electronics and soldering could remedy this) Other than that particular button, the unit works very well. This is very special Cobra 2000 GTL that has a FM modulation board and custom ROM chip installed that lets the radio go to 28.085 MHz The Cobra 2000 is famous for its amazing receive and can pick up stations that others cannot. This is because they are triple conversion, most CBs are only double conversion. This makes them much quieter to pick out stations. That gives this radio AM, FM and Sideband modes, I have not seen another Cobra 2000 with FM before. 4. The clarifier has been unlocked. This lets both the receive and transmit stay on the same frequency, a stock rig has the transmit fixed and it drifts over time. 5. The unit has the NPC mod installed. This is the negative peak compression mod, that lets the positive voice peaks modulate louder, and not wasted on the negative peaks. really helps make the radio loud, but also clean. 6.
