Piece has a primitive face that looks to be hand made or hand printed and has an amazing overall primitive look. Piece has wood fixtures in places and is mostly metal but am not sure the metal type due to its original paint. Piece is in great condition with some minor aging and wear to contend with and looks to possibly be in working order but has not been tested. The gentleman whose Estate this item came from was an antique camera collector and photography buff who over the years had amassed a very large collection of related items! This Exposure Meter is in excellant condition and is fully functional. It comes in its original box. Set into its personal indentation cut in the bottom of the cardboard box. Resting underneath the Meter and attached to its bottom is its original, long black nylon? cord. There is not a leather carrying case with this Meter and I am not aware if one originally came with it in this box set. This light meter was made by General Electric in the 1950's. It's a PR-1 type of meter and has a serial number of#L57990. It comes with a brown leather carrying case which zippers to secure the meter safely. The meter does work properly when pointed toward light and depressing the button. The measurement wheel spins and moves freely. As it is supposed to. Overall, the piece is in good working order, with minimal amounts of wear. The glass lens aperture on the front of the meter is clean and clear. The leather case is worn and there is one section of the zipper which has come loose from is fabric fastener. Offered here is a working example of one of the first automatic exposure cameras sold to the American public. The Bell& howell Electric Eye 127 is a sophisticated box camera dating to the late 1950s. This auction is for the top-of-the-line model which has a grey tweed fabric covering. Included is the original flash gun. And the original carry case, both covered in grey tweed. A neck strap for the camera, and a shoulder strap for the case, are both included. The Electric Eye 127 takes size 127 roll film. It has fixed focus and a fixed shutter speed. But the lens opening varies according to the amount of light falling on the meter that surrounds the lens. As you can see in the last three photos in this listing, the metering system works well on this camera. The lens is a glass anastigmat design. Cosmetic condition: Excellent. Two tiny scratches ... moreon the bright metal trim near the viewfinder. And a couple of small scratches on the viewfinder front window. Otherwise this camera is SPOTLESS inside and out. Definitely an oldy, but a goody! This is an Interesting and Intricate Piece of Historical Equipment. Condition: Used- Vintage. Has NOT been fully tested. Appears that the Movement Still Works(not locked up) and the unit appears to be intact. Patent plate sticker is missing from the back.

No longer have the leads. The larger one was made in Japan by Layfayette. It makes a rattling sound when shook, probably a small screw, but still tests voltage ok. The smaller one is made in Korea by Micronta, probably a radio shack exclusive.
