Up for auction is this brass cornet made by Bach. This instrument is no longer in our rental program. But plays fine. It has a bad lead pipe. It also has quite a few dings and scratches. I had a professional brass repair technician look over this cornet before I posted it on eBay. The slides move fine. The valves are good. It is in playing condition, it just doesn't look very pretty. This is a vintage silver plated small upper-outer-main-tuning-slide-tube-to-third-casing-knuckle part for a Couesnon cornet. There is a little tarnish. Overall. It is in good condition. It is about 1 1/4 inches(4.4 mm) from top to bottom. It comes with one ferrule. On the bell of the cornet that it came from. It says"COUESNON PARIS Made in France 83147" It does not have a"grenade" stamped on the bell. This came from a cornet that was damaged to the point that it was not worth fixing. The serial number appears on the horn and also on each of the three valves. Comes with 2 mouthpieces and I beli eve the case and one of the mouthpieces are original. One mouth piece is marked HN White Co. Equa-Tru and the other mouthpiece is not marked. The case has the original key included. The cornet is in overall good condition for its age and it sounds Great! It has a few smaller dings and dents and worn lacquer as you can see but overall nothing too bad in my opinion. The horn could use cleaning and polishing. The three valves work well and feel good when played. This is a wonderful collectors item. From the legendary Conn company this is the 26A Directors cornet from 1936. The original case and mouthpiece are included with purchase. I am selling this very old cornet for someone who received it in an estate. The only thing she knows about it. It belonged to a man born in 1881 and died in 1976. No one has played it in many years. I know nothing about the instrument, so you are getting it as is. I tried to take pictures of various sides. It says"Austria" on it. The bell is engraved with"Henri Gautier Virtuoso" There are tags with it that said it came from Sears Roebuck. On those tags it says silverplated. From the diagram, it looks like all of the parts are there. However since it hasn't had any attention for so many years, I'm sure it will need some TLC! I hope someone will give it a good home! CORNET NOVA LA Vintage w/Case
Nova Los Angeles Cornet in good shape mechanics and cosmetics with nice patina; only a little lacquer left. NOVA Los Angeles" and a geometric design are engraved on the bell tube top. This is a vintage instrument. From the style it would be at latest in the 1950's from what I've observed. I don't know for sure whether manufacturing was in LA or Fullerton, CA. I've had and sold this make in the past, they're quality pieces. Note the unusual angle of the bell cane coming from the first valve- All of the Nova trumpets and cornets I've seen are this way with the valve 1 bypass and the bell cane positions are reversed from most other designs; Makes little difference. But interesting look. The center valve casing has the serial number 17296 stamped on it. The horn has mother of pearl topped finger buttons. This Cornet ... morehas some braces re-soldered. A couple small dents, one bottom valve cap isn't a match for the other two(it fits though& isn’t noticeable) I removed& oiled the valves; pulled. Cleaned, greased the slides. I put a newer 7c mouthpiece with it. There is a case also, nothing to brag about but works, and could be refurbished if you want. Look at the photos- the cornet is a good one. The finish being nearly gone makes it look even better to me. I've played it. It plays great and has very nice sound. An easy player. So for a student. I purchased this wonderful Bach Cornet CR 300 for my daughter to use for band in school. They no longer have a band so we are selling this great cornet for somebody else to enjoy. This cornet is used. But in great condition! I played this cornet years back in middle school and am since out of college- but tested it out and it's playing beautifully! This is a used Roth Cornet made by the Roth-Reynolds Instrument Co Cleveland Ohio. This cornet is in very good shape and plays very well with a sweet cornet tone. The serial number 68XXX dates it back into mid-1950's. The valves and main tuning slide are numbered and match the serial number on the second valve. There are a few minor dings and a crease appears to have been nicely taken from the bell. The valves are tight and do not leak air. The slides are move easily and have been cleaned. This is a used GFrank Holton& Co. Elkhorn WIS 70A cornet mouthpiece. The ID is.6 4 0. The throat is a 2 3. And the cup is deep. This mouthpiece has recently been replated and not played since. It is quite nice and ready to play. There are a few minor marks. The shank is round. I have taken photos from several angles to allow you to check it's condition. If you click the photos. F.E. Olds& Son"SPECIAL" model Bb Cornet/Trumpet; American made by F.E. Olds& Son in Los Angeles. California; Serial# 119778; Ca 1954' The Cornet measures 15 3/8"l with a 4 3/4" Bell. Large Bore.463" measured inside the second valve slide itself. Weight of the Cornet is 2 lbs. 6.8 ozs. Beautiful Mother of Pearl capped valve buttons. Valve pistons have matching numbers with the horn and are in SUPERB condition(plating) The bell rim is slightly out-of-round. Included with the Cornet is a Chris Kratt SC 18 Bb Cornet German made mouthpiece. The mouthpiece has been ultrasonically cleaned and silver plated. It plays very well with the horn. Also included is a brand new ProTec case. This Cornet has just returned from restoration and is in BEAUTIFUL condition. Old Lacquer stripped. Ultrasonically cleaned, Prepped, ... morePolished, Silver Plated over-all with a Gold Wash inside the Bell to a mirror-like finish. New felts, corks, water seals, and springs. Talk about Easy-Play& Easy Blow. My personal favorite horn are the Vintage Olds Cornets. I have always had one here around the house to play for the last 20 years since my first experience with one. REYNOLDS MEDALIST TRUMPET/ CORNET + BLACK REYNOLDS CASE.
I have for sale what i believe to be a good vintage silver plated reynolds Medalist trumpet/ Cornet housed in a black covered Reynolds case. The trumpet is silver plated onto brass. The silver plate is in good condition there are a few areas where brass shows through. Area on right hand side,also area to left side, upright valve pipes. Small amount of tarnish around base of valve pipes. Volume of silver plate on instrument i would rate at 80% Reynolds Medalist.Made in U.S.A to cone. Yamaha 16E Mouth piece. Mother of pearl buttons to keys. Instrument has good tone when blown.I must say i can not play but was able to get a fair amount of noise from this instrument. Bright and shiny appearance.Very few marks and only one tiny dink. Instrument comes housed in a Reynolds black leatherette case with thick red furry lining. Reynolds original metal ... morelabel to case. Numerous stickers to outer case.Easily removed if required? i will not. Fitted compartments. Hinges and locks to case all work fine. Small tear to leatherette left hand lid corner. Not bad. No keys for case. Used bottle of valve oil and 1 alloy mute. Case condition good for age. Size- 35cm long x 15.5cm high.
