Cool Vintage 60s Selmer Signet Silver Trigger Cornet for Service: ser# 492546; Selmer is one of the oldest and most respected names in music. In the 40s. Selmer USA began the bundy student line and the Signet intermediate line of instruments when French instruments became impossible to get. This is a ML bore cornet that features a first valve trigger for better tuning control. This is a neat old piece that plays fine as it sits. Bohm & Meinl Cornet
Up for sale is a Bohm Meinl brass cornet with case. From what I can find out about this company is that Bohm Meinl produced fine brass instruments in West Germany during the 70’s.Here is a quote I found concerning these instruments. Bohm& Meinl was a maker of very fine brass in the 1970's in Germany. About 1983 they were taken over by Walter Nirschl who still makes brass today under his own name. I have played a few of them and compare them favorably to the B&S Challenger line. It is a good horn. The cornet is in good working order(it’s been 40+ years since I played trumpet in HS but I did get through a scale and some improvisation on it) All the slides move, mouthpiece comes out, and the valves move freely. I did take the horn apart as shown in the pictures to show this as well as show the valves to those who want to see their ... morecondition. The horn does play and IMHO has a nice tone quality. The mouthpiece that comes with the cornet is a Vincent Bach 7. The cornet was given a warm bath and soaking in the sink, then all the slides and valves were lubricated. One thing I did notice after I disassembled the horn and was putting it back together was the 1st valve top cap didn't want to screw on and stay tight when I screwed it back on.So I did what any good plumber would do and put a small piece of pipe thread tape on and tightened it down and it seems to be fine. Probably the fine threads on the cap are worn some. All the bracing is intact. Has a few scrapes and dings(see pics) but overall is a good looking and playing cornet for it's age. The only numbers I could find on the horn were on the side of the valve tubes, 88,89,90. Please take a look at the pictures and ask any questions you may have concerning this item. Up for auction is an oldy and a goody- a late 30's/ early 40's Henri Selmer Paris cornet with a 3 digit serial number- 47x! Horn is in impressive but used shape for its age: original lacquer about 85% No visible pitting on leadpipe, minor dent work on bell and crook, everything moves, just cleaned. Valves show mild wear and faint sideplay, but still pull surprisingly good vacuum for age and horn is thoroughly playable from top to bottom. Bore is about.459 and horn has a great warm, vintage tone. Has a 1st valve trigger, and 3rd valve slide(a little stiff) with original ring. Could use new corks/felts and valve alignment. Comes with what appears to be original case, no name mpc in about a 7c size, 3 mutes in good condition, and some 1940's trumpet solo transcriptions and some handwritten music, too. VEGA CORNET VINTAGE
They haven't made these for some years. But in their day they were an excellent professional grade horn. This one is in excellent condition except for one spot on the bell, about the size of a nickel, over part of the engraving where the lacquer is off.There are no dents or other defects. The rest of the lacquer, probably original, has darkened but is 99% intact. The valves are tight with excellent compression and the horn plays very well with a ML feel. The main tuning slide is stuck, but the secondary tuning slide works fine so it can be played well in tune as is.Come with a Bach 7C mouthpiece, it you wish.Domestic sales only.

1918 Clarke Model Cornet Outfit
1918 Clarke Model Cornet Outfit with allslides to play in Bb.C,A High pitch and Low pitch. Finish is Silver sandblast with gold plated bell. Of interest is that the bell is marked Elkhorn. Wisconsin and the body is marked Chicago. 1918 is the year Holton moved to Elkhorn. Condition is excellent with no visible plating wear or dents. The horn was serviced in 2000 by Oberloh Music and the valves were replated so this one is a player with a really sweet tone. It comes with a period advertising brochure.

You are bidding on a silver plated brass cornet by Hawkes& Son. Denman Street, Piccadilly Circus, London, serial number 45941. It is'The Clippertone' Excelsior Sonorous Class A' and was made by Hawkes from the mid 1920s to 1934(then made after this by Boosey& Hawkes) It is all complete apart from the water key. It has a mouthpiece by John Grey& Sons, London. Condition is not good and it will need a lot of restoration- ... morethere are some heavy dents, particularly at the rear and on the bell. There is a split just above the engraving on the bell next to an old repair which looks to have been done with a small silver plate. Where the mouthpiece part joins the main tube by the valves, and just to the rear of the finger hook, there is a large crack and a previous repair. This mouthpiece part wobbles as it is no longer soldered to its support. I have tried to photograph all these points and have also tried to show all aspects of the instrument in the photos so you can decide its general condition. If not restored, given a good polish it would make a lovely display piece. It measures approximately 13.1/2" in length and has a bell diameter of approximately 4.3/4" Please contact me if you have any questions and I will try my best to answer them, but I will admit to not being an expert on musical instruments. 1910 Conn New Creation cornet
This is a 1910 Conn New Creation cornet. It is in very good condition. It has been professional serviced with new corks and felts and had all possible dings removed. There is a decorative knurled ring missing on the top tube of the main tuning slide but it was there only to match the lock ring on the lower tube. The horn has a small spot on the gold plated bell that has worn from a loose item in the case at some point in history. The rest of the finish is near perfect. The valves have good compression and operate very smoothly. The valves are stained a brown color. Likely from a type of oil that was used at some time. Since they function so well as they are I have not tried to clean or polish them. The horn comes with a complete set. Original case with good latches and hinges but a replacement handle. Early 1970’s Olds Ambassador Cornet Fullerton CA. serial#824xxx. All slides pull and valves are responsive. Dings dents and scratches with some missing lacquer in spots. If you are looking for a perfect horn this is not it but it doesn't look too bad. Was cleaned and seems to play nicely. Horn comes with a case which is in rough condition and smells a bit musty. Vintge silver Besson 2-20 Cornet in excellent condition
Vintage Besson 2-20 Cornet in excellent condition. The serial number(365919) means it was made in England in the early sixties. My father-in-law was responsible for buying band instruments in the early sixties and this one was given to him. He never played it and it has only been played occasionally since. It has one small place near the third valve where the plating is missing. Since the horn has barely been played I believe it is a manufacturing error. It has no dents or dings otherwise and is in beautiful shape. It comes with the original manual. A lyre and the original stocking number. Also included are the original Besson 5 star mouthpiece and a Bach 3C I bought for it. It has beautiful engraving on the bell.
