He was a Ham from 1956 on and took good care of his equipment. After he said his final 73s earlier this year. I found this in a cabinet in his radio room. I does power up with both the A/C adapter and the internal batteries. The only obvious defect is that one of the two battery holders has the top cracked and coming off. I wrapped it with some Kevlar cord around it with a spot of glue as a temporary fix for testing. I am a recently retired field service technician and I found this in my leftover work stuff. I remember using it maybe 4- 5 times max. It's in excellent used condition. Note the user's manual was ruined because all the pages were stuck together. But when googling it I found a few websites where it can be downloaded. A dbx 10/20 in very hard to find cosmetic condition. Was used very infrequently and not at all for the last 2.5 years as I was abroad. I decided to check it and list it on eBay. However to my dismay. When I power it on, the display was"funky" All lights came on(see pictures) Then after awhile, they revert to what appears to be normal, but controls are non responsive to any of the push buttons. Therefore, unit is sold AS-IS. It is probably worthwhile to fix it as you can see many of the units the frequented eBay tend to be sometimes beat up, with a lot of scratches, levers broken/missing etc. and those that are nice commands a pretty high price. Alternatively, if you have a fully work unit, you can use the fascia and other parts of the casing to make your look spiffy again.
