One 536A HP Frequency Meter. 1-4 GHz, Serial 338 Turns smoothly from top to bottom. Red markers follow easily Small ding on top knob but no functional damage. See pictures. 9.5" tall and base is 6" wide Tested for function and it works. The testing also revealed it is very slightly out of calibration by a few percent. I believe the winner could correct this with a simple screwdriver alignment if i remember correctly. Same asa HP-536 This is a notch type cavity that will pass a signal with no loss on a coax line and give a 1 db or more notch at the dialed frequency. The red scale ident device has come out of its groove so I had to count the turns to observe the notch freq. Dial is fairly close( 3 Mhz error at 1 Ghz) Type N connectors. A few scratches on the plexiglass cover but over-all decent condition.Cost in 1981 was 1125.00. Weight 12+ pounds/ about 15 pounds with packing box.

FXR Frequency meter, N410A, 1-4 GHz, notch filter, coax connectors
I believe this device is a notch filter used to measure the frequency of a signal using a power meter- it has a pretty sharp 2 dB notch from the graph shown. I could find very little info on FXR. But I found the following: FXR Inc. Of Woodside NY used to make frequency meters back in the 1960s. You can still find their products on Ebay! Brian has helped us with some FXR history: Whilst FXR were definitely in Woodside. NY in the early sixties they were definitely part of Microlab/FXR by 1966(Source: the Microwave Engineers Handbook and Buyers Guide 1966- yes, I have been around that long! In an ad in the book it quotes"Microlab/FXR- the combination of Microlab, Bogart and FXR" At this stage they were in Livingston, NJ. In 2001 they were taken over by Wireless Telecom Group. The name has now been shortened to Microlab with no sign ... moreof FXR on the website or the catalog(except for a little bit of the history of WTG) Strangely. The website is fxr.com! They are now in Parsippany, NJ. Most of the old legacy products have also disappeared. This particular unit is part number N410A serial number 1076. Last calibrated 2-86. Coax connectors on both ends. It weighs a bit over 8 pounds, scrap brass is about $2.50 per pound, so there is $24 or so of scrap brass in this item- I hate to scrap it but I will if there is no interest in it- It is in very good cosmetic condition, it seems to work, but I have no need for it and I am running out of space for"toys" I've started the bidding below the scrap value of the item.
