13 years ago. My mother-in-law came to live with us. Recently widowed, she left her house as it was, came to Oregon and said she was never going back home. We told her we would pack her house up, pack EVERYTHING, and bring here for her to sort through at her pleasure. Her house was much like a museum. She was an avid and well known antique dealer and collector in Los Angeles in the mid to later 1900's. We moved over 700 boxes of items from her house. Along with many pieces of furniture. 1 of her pieces has been on the Antique Road Show. I built a 7000 sq. foot building to accommodate all her collections. She never opened a box. She died about 6 years ago. And we have just begun the process of going through the boxes ourselves. It is an arduous process. Some items will go to concession dealers. Up for auction is this nice used set of Bashlin tree/pole climbing gaffs/spikes 140-DS made in Grove city PA. And comes with the Rose manufacturing co. Climbing/ safety belt. The leather and straps on the climbers are in good condition just a little stiff, gaffs are still sharp. The safety belt I don't know how to tell exactly what size it is but I put it on and I have a 36" waist and it had three holes of adjustment on each side of the hole that fit me. The safety belt is model 501080 and is dated 03 27 95 and made in Englewood Colorado, belt is also what I would call good condition. Thanks and happy bidding. I purchased them at a garage sale from a ol' timer during a recent road trip to the Gold Country. Lake Tahoe Basin near Truckee, CA. The guy I bought them from was quite a character. he couldn't actually remember how long or where he got the Spikes but said they'd been around for a loooooooong time sitting outside in the weather. I couldn't leave them behind and just had to rescue them and now I'm looking for someone who would like to have some old Gold Country History hanging on their wall. No telling how many trees were fallen in the Tahoe area by a person wearing these. if they could only talk! I'm not sure of the model number of exactly how to size them. as they sit they measure 17" top to bottom. Without the extenders that slide on the shaft(these don't slide they are rusted) the shaft top to bottom is 14" if that helps to determine the model? The straps appear to be of heavy canvas. Here is a nice set of climbing gear.This lot includes a used but still in nice shape KLEIN safety tool belt model 5282n22.Size 37-45 I wear a size 36 waist and it fits me fine with a little adjustment either way.Also a KLEIN safety linemans strap,I don't believe this was ever used looks new,and a pair of KLEIN climbing spikes these have replaceable spikes and are adjustable size.These are used but still in nice condition.Nice set-up.Please look at the pics to see what you are bidding on.Thanks
