This old wooden box measures 5" by 3.75" and is 1.25" high. The box has dove tail construction and the top has a groove in which the lid slides open and closed. The box is not glued or mailed together. In fact it can be broken down into six parts and reconstructed if needed. Off. 1 dozen 837 yellow The company had offered boxes of these colored lumber crayons in other colors- black. White, yellow, terra cotta, blue, red, purple, hard blue, green, and hard red. The base is not marked but has the same look as a bowl in there price guides. The shoulder is plain and the body has4 wavy lines that go all the way around. The base is square with cut off corners which McCoy was big in doing this. There is a little triangle design at each of the four cut off corners. The bowl has a advertisement on the inside bottom in a black ink. The ad reads, Rock Island Lumber Co. with a small design in the center of the words. The bowl is a tan. I've seen old advertising bean pots with this same color. There's a very tight Crows Foot type hair line in the base. This is hard to see but can see it from both sides. The lines run about 1 inch ... moreall ways from the center of the Crows Foot. I see no other damage, no chips nicks or hair lines. The bowl size is 5 1/8" tall x 9 1/2" round overall x 3 3/4" at base. If my auction says, or LESS in the shipping price I most likely will save you postage if you WAIT for my eBay invoice. 3 Old Antique Early 1900's LG Photographs, Lumber Mill, Saw Mill, Group Photos
Here's an interesting group of three old good sized matted photographs from maybe the very late 1800's and more likely early 1900's to about 1910. These depicts a group of workmen at an old saw mill or lumber mill of the period. These all seem to be of the same group as the man with the striped shirt shows up in all the photos. The detail quality on these is very good when examined closely. The saw blade in the background is visible in one of the photos. One of the photos has the horse teams, in some of the photos the men are carrying peavey's, bow saws or other log and lumber related tools. My guess is they have an early stationary steam engine or similar early engine running the sawmill as you can a tall smoke pipe in some of the photos. The three were kept together for a single listing as the collective should be nice for ... morethose who collect and display old sawmill, lumber yard, logging and related items. They are a little on the dusty, dirty side on the matting and a little on the light side. Nice set overall. The photos themselves are about 5 by 8 inches and the matted dimensions are 8 by 11. My guess is these were taken somewhere here in New Hampshire.We're not photo specialist and think this type of antique photo is called a cabinet photo as opposed to a CDV. That's about it. Church's Lumber Yard Apron Since 1890 Detroit Michigan Carpenter Nail Vtg Cotton
This auction is for a vintage Church's Lumber Yard carpenter's nail apron. We believe that thus item has never been used. But was just stored on a basement shelf since it was originally obtained. It is white cotton with red printing showing the Church's"spokesperson" holding a piece of wood reading"Church's" and"1890. It also shows the Church's lumber yard locations around the state of Michigan. This piece measures approximately 17 inches by 9 inches with a 68 inch tie wrap. It has two compartments. We have not washed this and are selling it like it came out of storage. It is a very nice piece and, best of all, will come to you with free shipping and handling. Happy bidding!
