This is such an intricate design in a small box use for construction crayons! The dovetailed corners and slide top are still absolutely beautiful. There are even some of the original crayons still inside. It measures 5 1/4" X 3 5/8" X 1 1/2" So small and yet such great detail. As you can see. Idaho Main Street featured by Ripley as the only town in the U.S. where the railroad, river and street run in the same place at the same time. Car traffic stops when the train comes through. The nut that is on the end of the bolt goes through the handle appears to been a wingnut at some point in time. The wings on the wingnut have been broken off. The wooden part of this handle measures about 11 1/4" long. The metal pieces have large ends that the go along with the contour of the wood forming an oval shape. Those ovals measure a little more than 2 1/4" x a little more than 1 1/4" I don't know much about these. I can't tell if they are missing something or not so please take a good look at the pictures. Up for sale is this vintage(as in authentic- not a reproduction! color plate(no printing on back and on heavy paper) from a painting by Richard Ward. This is of the Hallack& Howard Lumber Company's Number 5 engine in Northern New Mexico traveling through Carson National Forest toward the mill at La Madera. This is a Cooke engine and apparently it was previously used on the Colorado& Southern Railway. Notice the cone type screen cinder diverter. This plate measures around 8 3/16" by 11" Please note that I tweaked the contrast on the first cropped close-up picture whereas the other pictures are"as scanned" at 300 DPI. 159 bf. dry rough cherry lumber / boards
This lumber was part of a woodworkers estate I recently purchased. I believe it is all cherry lumber. I tried to take several pictures as I stacked it up. The boards are mostly knot free. There are a couple with wane on the edges and a few with splits. I calculated about 159 board feet. Some are smooth one side but most are rough. They are not cut to standard dimensional sizes. Most are about dimensional size in thickness but the widths are random on a lot. At the beginning of this list the boards were fairly standard to dimensional on the widths so I rounded. Later down the list I started listing actual widths. I did not measure the thickness of each piece but I did measure the width. I rounded down to the nearest foot. I did not round up.
