The pen was created in the USA by NEWCO. Probably in the mid-late 1960´s( Almost 50 years ago) to promote Withers Lumber out of Woodburn. Mt. Angel, and Brooks, Oregon. This pen has a patriotic(Red, White, and Blue) top and white barrel, with silver color clicker, clip, and bands. The inscription on the barrel is red text and reads as follows: WOODBURN LUMBER CO. MT. ANGEL LUMBER CO. BROOKS LUMBER CO. WOODBURN FLOOR COVERING(The pen is good condition but no longer writes) The Woodburn location was manned by their first employee. Fred Hurris. All during the depression and most of World War II, this is how the yards operated. All of our contractor customers had their own keys so if Lee or Fred were gone they’d simply come in, take what they needed and leave a note. As the 50s began. Both Woodburn and Mt. Angel yards started to grow ... moreand more people were hired. Both locations hired local folks and were vital parts of the community, especially if a church needed to be built or a barn raised. In 1962. Eldest son Bob came home from the service and went to work full-time in the same town where he had grown up. The Woodburn store was now the much larger of the two locations and Lee. Ann, and Bob all worked there along with about 10 other employees. There were so many colorful characters like"Shorty" Slim" and"Big" Bob Wellman, who lived and worked in the communities and really made the company what it is. A small but still big enough local company with local people. Son Bob took over in 1964 and opened Brooks Lumber in 1965. Vintage Rapid Lumber Reckoner Book Marlboro NJ M.N. Smith &Son
Offered is a piece of local memorabilia from the town of Marlboro NJ. It is a small booklet entitled"Rapid Lumber Reckoner" and was printed for the M.N. Smith&Son Wholesale Lumber and Millwork Co. of Marboro. The original owner's name/address is on the back of the first page: Wm Smith 937 Chapel St Baltimore Md. There are no dates on the book but it appears to be quite old. It has 106 pages. However it should be noted that pages 83-88 have been torn in half. It may still be of interest to a local historian or someone interested in how lumber needs were calculated in the pre computer age. I have no use for this book and am offering at a low price hoping it may be of interest to someone. Good luck!

Years ago we bought several of these from the son of a man who taught at the school. this one is stamped The Lufkin Rule Co Windsor Ontario on one side and FRS 107 on the other. is it approximately 24 1/4 inches long.

This is a used postcard and is postmarked 1912? It is hard to read for sure. Card shows the Plant of The American Lumber Company Albuquerque New Mexico NM. Card publisher is the Williamson Haffner Company. Postcard has some creasing on the left hand side along with other wear. The overall condition is average to good. 1915 PPIE Medal - NGC MS63 - So-Called Dollar HK411 (Oregon lumber bldg) Token
Up for sale is a so-called dollar or commemorative medallion from the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition held in San Francisco. Description: It is made from copper with an antiqued finish. And measures approximately 38mm in diameter. It corresponds with HK-422, the Oregon Building Dollar. It has been graded at MS 3 and encapsulated by NGC. Hibler-Kappen note of the piece that although it called to mind Parthenon of Greece. The huge Oregon Building, with its enormous fir log columns, was designed to make known fact that state had, within its borders, one fourth of all standing timber in the US. Condition: The original copper shine is present. Which typically gives it an interesting and somewhat"cleaned" appearance on many mint-state examples of this coin, due to the antiquing of the finish.
