The lumber mill relied more heavily on illusion& suspension of disbelief than any of the other industrial accessories. Logs deposited on one end of the platform, either by dump car or by hand, would be pushed into the sawmill building at center stage. ... moreFinished boards would emerge from the other end. The dressed boards had to be loaded into the building ahead of time. Logs entering the building would drop off a transparent conveyor belt, while at the same time, the boards would be picked up by it and pushed out the other side, where they were stacked up(sort of) by gravity.
