This accessory carried the operation into the next phase. Converting logs into dressed lumber. The lumber mill relied more heavily on illusion& suspension of disbelief than any of the other industrial accessories. Logs deposited on one end of the platform, either by dump car or by hand, would be pushed into the sawmill building at center stage. Finished boards would emerge from the other end. The dressed boards had to be loaded into the building ahead of time. Logs entering the building would drop off a transparent conveyor belt, while at the same time, the boards would be picked up by it and pushed out the other side, where they were stacked up(sort of) by gravity. A really neat effect. It measures about 2 feet long. This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good. Original circa 1913 real photo postcard in fine condition. NEAR MINT- Looks new to me. May show very slight discoloration due to age. Guaranteed original. EXCELLENT- Postcard will have no stains or bends. Card may have a trace of wear around the edges, and corners may show minor bumps and have light discoloration from album storage. Writing on front is acceptable on rppcs only if it is concise and enhances documentation. May be postmarked. FINE- Corner tips may be lightly rounded or very slightly creased. A splendid envelope from the days when communication was by the mails- including local companies like the Steelton Planing Mill. That letterhead was an advertising tool. Clean, toned, 6" x 3 3/8" no contents. Advertising was always in print in the 1890s, so all companies, including this one wanted their name out there. Here is a local manufacturer of lumber, doors, sashes, blinds, flooring, mouldings, and much more selling during the Gilded Age. The envelope is classic- the 2-cent deep crimson Washington postage stamp, Scott Catalog 220, hand-canceled. Mailed to a lawfirm in Lewisburg, Union County, Pennsylvania- A marvelous Legal industry, Harrisburg area and Lewisburg memento. Interesting- ... moreSteelton Planing used the new'Lewisburg' rather than the obsolete'Lewisburgh' spelling- in the 1890s the Post Office attempted to simplify spellings by dropping the'h' at the end of town names like Lewisburgh- some towns agreed- the most famous of those who refused was Pittsburgh- after 1912 the Post Office gave up. The envelope is not folded, no dogears, cleanly opened along the left-hand edge but with a chip at the bottom left corner. A backstamp in Lewisburg on the reverse, the next day. A remarkable period piece and a splendid Letterhead envelope from a Century and more ago. Remarkable history here. This should be framed or part of a collage. We are liquidating our lifelong stamp and paper accumulation- no idea what's there- this is an example. Lumber Mill HO Scale Structure Built and Weathered
Vintage IHC/Tyco kit. Both made it. Scenic material on base, added an N scale truck for the log buggy. You could continue N scale track from the model if desired. I have been building and selling Ho scale structures on the train show circuit in Michigan, thought I would list some on Ebay. The structures have all been built by me and all surfaces have been painted. Many parts have been weathered using acrylic paint washes. Windows have all been glazed, unless noted. This building has lots of great details like a huge amount of stacked lumber[in bag] Enough for a lumber yard and train loads, smokestack, lots of storage, tanks, metal roofs, and loading docks. Mesquite Saw Mill Log 17" X 90" Sawmilll Lumber Fireplace Mantle lumber
I harvested this log a couple years ago. Didn't get it sawed up and have since sold my mill. This is a exceptional log for a mesquite. It is around 7 and a half foot long and about 17 inches in diameter. It is one of the straighter mesquite logs to be found for that length. I have quite a few more stashed away if a local saw miller don't get them from me. THIS SALE IS FOR LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. You arrange transportation Or I could deliver within a reasonable distance for reasonable fee. When thinking of reasonable consider the cost of fuel. Proto 1 ½ " drive 6 point socket 4 ½" Mining, heavy construction, lumber mill
This is a very large and heavy 6 point socket that is 1 ½" drive for 4 ½" number 15072-L manufactured by Proto. I think it came out of an old mill in Idaho. It is in very good condition and shows very little use from the looks on the inside of the socket. Please look at all pics before bidding. This is very heavy at 23 lbs.
