Old Antique Primitive Carved? Wood Fire Alarm Battle Rattle Noisemaker Clacker
This antique wood fire alarm is a great piece of primitive fire fighting memorabilia. The clacker is loud( and would have alerted nearby people to a fire or emergency. The alarm is all wood with a single metal pin in the wood wheel that has bumps and makes the noise. The handle is nicely turned with nine defined rings. The noise maker measures 4&1/2" tall(from the base of the handle to the top of the piece) and measures just under 9" wide(from handle to end) The piece has some wear to it but much less than would be expected for an item of this age- probably mid to late 19th century. Old 1944 Wooden Buddy L Ladder Fire Truck - Wood Firetruck
Approx. 20" long x 4 1/2" tall. This vintage Buddy L was made during wartime to conserve on metal. It is in very good- excellent condition with the exception of missing the wooden hubcap that holds on one tire. It probably had another ladder as there are two sets of holes underneath the present one where it could attach. Bright original paint with only a couple of nicks. No splits or cracks in the wood. Vintage Looky Fire Truck Wood Toy RARE WITH BELL - 1950's First Style
Recently I noticed on EBAY. A wooden fire truck for sale that I also own since I was 2 years old. After 6 decades of ownership I have decided to put my toy(which is now an antique) up for auction. As you can see it is in excellent shape for a wooden toy that is over 60 years old. It has never been outside of my home and all the parts work(and yes. I have children, but they never wanted to play with such an old toy when they were growing up) This Looky Fire Truck by Fisher Price is from the early 1950's. The bell works great. As a matter of fact, everything on the toy works great. Another seller of this toy believes that it is the first toy truck made with this type of mechanism. As mentioned. It is fully functioning, and when moved, the eyes move up and down, the arm swings to ding the metal bell, and the two back firefighter bob and ... moretwist around. The paint job is in remarkably good condition for a toy this old. The details such as logo and firefighter equipment are all bright and very visible. The truck measures approximately 12" long and 4 3/4" tall. A portion of the inside wall seems to be slightly separating from the wood. And you might notice I took a red crayon to the inside floor(60 years ago) I have not tried to remove the crayon marks but they might come off.
