ASTM F887 No. SB9403 L 3 12. The leather portion is not marked with a brand or model. They show a normal of use with scuffs. Scratches, rust tarnishing on the metal but surprisingly they are holding up and are in working condition. No size is indicated. I measured from the spike from where it came out off the metal and got 1 1/2" Comes as pictured. The gaffs look to be replaceable but not adjustable. VINTAGE UTILITY POLE LINEMAN TREE CLIMBING CLIMBERS GAFFS SPIKES HOOKS SPURS
These climbing hooks belonged to my dad. He worked for a gas and electric company in California for about 30 years. He purchased these in the early 60's and used them up until about'72 when he became a supervisor. After that they were only used on the 4th of July when he would climb the pole in our neighborhood and turn out the street light so we could light our fireworks in the dark. The poles are still in pretty good condition. The hooks are aluminum and the spikes are steel with leather binding at the top and bottom. That being said. They are VINTAGE. One set of spikes are for poles and the other set is for trees(a little longer) The tree spikes are taped to the hooks as you can see in the pictures. The upper straps(around the calf area) are adjustable up and down depending on how long you need them. The aluminum hooks themselves ... moreare about 19" from the bottom of the hook up to the top. Model 52N-2HL, in excellent condition Buckingham Mfg: steel climbing spikes with L-pads& 3-1/2" permanent tree gaffs. In excellent condition Edges of leather straps and belt show some fray from use. But still meet OSHA standards for usability. Purchased@2008-2009, used until 2012, stored since then, but all three items have been well-cared-for, kept clean and dry and maintained. Buckingham SB9503 Climbing Spurs, 3.5" gaff, Bashlin Belt, Bashlin Strap
Up for sale is a set of Buckingham climbing spurs with 3.5" replaceable gaffs. These are SB9503 and retail for $300. This set is very lightly used and in excellent condition. The gaffs are sharp; there are no defects with these spurs. I'm only selling them because I have two sets currently and only need one. The 3.5" gaffs are ideal for heavy barked trees. Also included is a Bashlin climbing belt size 019 and a Bashlin climbing strap which extends to approximately 70" eye to eye. The strap has locking clips for safety and the strap is nearly new with no frays. Damage, etc. The Bashlin belt has a non-functioning clip on the rear(see pic) but otherwise is fully serviceable. I've done A LOT of tree climbing with it and never had any issues. $15 flat rate shipping to anywhere in the lower 48 states.

I wear size 40 waist in pants and the reddish yellowish belt barely fits, the leather belt does not fit, to small. These items have been stored in a shop for years and are dusty and dirty. please look at the pics carefully as they can explain item condition better than I can.

The following auction is for a vintage set of Bell Climbing spikes. They are used. They are quite dirty and surface rusty. They need cleaned up. The spikes although dirty. Seem to be in decent shape. The leather pieces and straps they attach to are in pretty sad shape. They are flexible but look dry rotted and weak. I don't think I would just strap these on and climb a pole. The metal would be fine,but the leather is wore and dry. On the metal spike part they are marked WE07890 Bell System-C Buckingham MFG Co. Then it says something NY. I am not sure how to measure them but at their longest point they would be 18 inches from spike to top of the metal tip. They can be adjusted maybe an inch or two.
