You are bidding on an antique circa 1915- 1925 Weller American Art pottery wall pocket vase with a figural nude maiden form. Great matte glaze and a well articulated form with a pretty demure maiden that is more in the Art Nouveau aesthetic than Art Deco but this is clearly a transitional piece. You can just make out the Weller name at the bottom on back of the pocket. This character is referred to as"Lydia" she was created in two different forms.the standing centerpiece(which we will be offering next week) and this the"Lydia" wall pocket vase. The line is called"Hobart" and is from around the 1915- 1928 time period. The style is called" Lavonia" which was produced about in the middle of that timeline- Lavonia features a mixed base color of lavender for her person and a very light blue over the lavender ... morebase for her dress.
