A screw cap remover that opens any jar lid from a small ketchup bottle to a large pickle or mayo lid. It adjusts up to 4-7/8 inches so it is hard to find qa lid it won't open. I keep one in my utensil drawer and use it often. It was made by Edlund Co. Burlington. Vermont around 1933 per the patent number. It is in excellent condition and works very well. Vintage Can Opener Edlund No. 5 Junior Green wooden handles
4. Up for auction is a vintage Edlund Junior#5 Can opener with a green wooden handle and crank. It was manufactured in Burlington Vt. It measures 6 1/2" long and 2 1/2" from the cranking handle to the cutter. The paint is in fairly good condition with only some slight paint wear and fading but the cutting area has some rust especially around the blade. I hesitate to try to clean it as I am not sure what it would do to the patina. I am not sure if patina and rust are the same thing. I think I am watching too much Antiques Road Show. The cutter works smoothly but I have not tried it on a can to open it because of the rust. I am selling a lot of my old vintage collectible kitchenware since I have no place to display them anymore and they are a waste being stored in the cellar. I am pleased to offer for your consideration. A Size No.1, commercial can opener and mounting bracket from EDLUND. The first thing I want to tell you about this can opener is, that I just don't know that much about it, so I will just tell you what I see. It measures 18 1/2 inches from the bottom of the shaft to the top of the handle. It appears to be fairly clean and with a a very shiny mounting bracket, so I'm not sure just how much use it's seen. The cranking handle is unbroken and the entire operation has a very tight(no wobble like worn gears or such) smooth motion to it. This can opener is marked EDLUND CO. INC. Burlington, VT. USA.
