Chinese copy of the renowned UK Matisse Tube Pre-amp circuit. Fantastic warmth and mid range clarity you expect from tubes. I had this coupled with a high powered solid state power amp. I have improved this one by replacing the Chinese tubes with matched pair of miltary ruggerdised long life Russian tubes and checking all other internal components. The heavy duty Russian tubes are rated for 10.000 hours use so shouldn't need replacement for ages! I will provide the Chinese tubes as spares too. I have put about 150 hours on the tubes. BIRKS Antique Sterling Silver Nail Buffer
WOW! This Antique is about 100 years old or more and is still superior. There are NO dings in the sterling. The original sueded leather on the buffer is perfect, still soft and usable. The matching case/box has it's interior ring to hold the buffer snuggly(I've noticed that most similar items on EBAY are missing this ring) This item is made by the Original BIRKS before they were purchased in the early 1900's( shown by the BIRKS stamp in a box)Buffer and box are both stamped. Sterling stamp on the box has an"L" below it. There are normal use scratches on item but mostly on the bottom of the box as shown in all the pictures. The beautiful floral edge trim on the buffer is on the handle, the top edge of the buffer, and also on the underside edge of the buffer! The monogram is YG. This is a very special piece. Sterlling Silver Nail Buffer Handle Old Gorham Marks Repousse STUNNING
Up for auction is a stunning nail buffer handle in Sterling Silver by the famous Gorham Manufacturing Co. This handle is simply stunning in its heavy repoussed floral motif featuring vines. Leaves and a central poppy and morning glory. The open handle is framed in more vines and leaves with an un-designed topside that is monogrammed with a"W" or an"M" I would estimate this handle to be from 1900 or so. The handle is also marked with the Gorham hallmarks, Sterling" and"B2002" While my books indicate the"B" is actually the date mark for 1869, due to the style and design, I do not believe this dating is correct. The style is much more in keeping with early Nouveau. The marks on the side are older Gorham marks(Lion, Anchor, G" these marks are not just the original Gorham marks, which continued ... moreto be utilized until around 1960(I believe) the marks on this handle are an older style of these marks, which do date it to around 1891-1900. Please note that the lion mark is not well incised, but is none-the-less there. The handle measures approximately 1 1/2" in height, is 4" long, and is 1 1/4" wide. The handle has the original wood underneath, but the"buffer" portion is missing. The craftsmanship of this handle is exceptional and demonstrates how truly wonderful was the work of Gorham. Hello. Welcome! This is an ornate antique Art Nouveau FOSTER& BAILEY(F& B) Sterling Silver nail buffer. It is marked"F& B STERLING" and"1924. There is a monogram that says"BD" These can generally be buffed off by a jeweler if so desired. Fosters& Bailey were very well known American silver makers. This pattern features a very detailed high-relief repousse in an unusual design with a lady surrounded by birds& flowers. Just beautiful. The sterling exterior is in good overall condition. With general wear commensurate with age. No splits, holes, large dings, or repairs. The soft buffing part shows its 90 years. The glue has come loose, you can pull it out. I don't know how best to fix it, whether it just gets glued in or what. I'll leave that to the winning bidder. Measures approximately 4" ... morelong& 1-1/4" at the widest point. Up for sale: A prototype tube efx loop/buffer. I built an ped al loop system for a customer a few years back and this was the prototype to test the lo op. It uses a single 6112 sub miniature dual tri ode to buffer the signal. Basically you plug your guitar in one end and feed the other end to your amp. Put your effects in the loop"S" is send"R" is return and"O" is out. The black plastic jack by itself is the input. It's powered by a single 6V wall wart. Internally a step up switching power supply generates 200VDC to drive the tube. I was cleaning and am shit canning stuff or trying to sell it. This is a pretty cool.
