This is a John Deere sickle bar mower spring. This spring is the one that hooks in the chain that floats the bar. Works on a 350 or 450. Maybe others also. This spring has been welded. It came off a mower we are refurbishing. We are going to put a new one on the mower we are working on. Thought someone might want this spring. It is an old weld, looks like it has been there a long time. If I were going to use the mower, I would have left it on there. Anyway, a new one is $144.00. John Deere Model 8 Sickle Bar Mower
Hi. Here I got a used John deere model 8 sickle bar mower. All the parts SEEM to be here but no garuntee, if you know a little about these and old tractors normally you have to do some modifications anyway. I believe it is a 7' bar but never measured. The bar would probably need oiled down and worked to break free as far as the gear box it does spin freely and move the arm. The pto connection is all there and comes with it. The only visible damage I see on the implement is the wooden 1x1 piece of bar is broke in half the reason for this being made of wood is the theory before it would break a shear off the bar the wood will snap if it were mine I would just put a peice of metal bar stock in its place.
