Vintage Disston Handsaw, Good Condition, Excellent Collectors Item , Nice Lookin
Got this saw and many others from my moms garage/barn/ hidden workshop. So the place is north Salem NY and it's an old barn. Very well built, with space for storage and parking. I had stored some of my things there years back and was always curious about this trap door leading into the attic of the barn. Dark and dusty it was and after letting the small colony of bats fly past my head and through the opening I discovered there an old abandoned wood shop. I have been trying to discover the history behind it but can find very little. This, among other woodworking treasures I found and want to sell to someone who appreciates it. Thanks for stopping by! Vintage Disston Docking Saw. Metal Handle. Scuffs. Scratches, general wear. Discoloration on blade is evident but I don't see anything that looks like rust.Paint on handle may not be original. Very last tooth on toe of saw appears to be broken, see pictures. Saw measures approx. 30" from heel to toe. Etching is difficult to see, I can make out Disston Docking Saw but not much else. Stains, tears, binding damage, etc. Sometimes I find that an item falls between two grades. In which case I will list it with a two-grade scale. NEAR MINT- MINT: I rarely use these grades. Except when an item is in truly exceptional condition. VERY FINE: very nice with virtually no major defects. FINE+: an even nicer copy. With minimal obvious defects. FINE: a nice copy. Flat with minor creases; may have some spine stress, but no prominent defects. FINE- better than VG+ but just a bit short of what I would consider Fine. VERY GOOD+: most of the items I list fall into this grade; a typical read item with obvious defects as noted. Approximate height of the saw blade is 5-5/8" The saw has the original brass emblem and rivets. In fair-good condition. A Disston 14" long back saw with a good blade and handle. There are 13 tpi(teeth per inch) and there are no broken or missing teeth. The blade height is about 4" There is some staining on the blade but that does not effect utility. Small stable crack in the handle near the top small screw as seen in the third photo. Vintage Disston Handsaw, Excellent Collectors Item. 1947 - 1953. 1" medallion
Saw is from 1947- 1953. 1" medallion. This is a Disston handsaw. 26" blade but total with handle is 29.5" long. 8 teeth per inch, blade is nice and straight, and no missing teeth. The medallion says"DISSTON USA" You can tell someone has sharpened the teeth but none are missing. Saw is missing one bolt. Please see all photo's. Information and photo below was found on the internet. 1947-53 1" medallions(found on full-sized handsaws) Saws from the late 1940's and early 1950's had this medallion with sloppy execution. Its perimeter is wide. D-8's and D-12's were nickel-plated; D-7's were the same style. But not plated.

Vintage Henry Disston & Sons 48" One Or Two Man Saw
A well taken care of vintage Disston& sons crosscut saw Blade measures 48" Saw measures 53" total with handle There is no rust at all and the blade is very sharp The gentleman that owned this saw kept record of the sharpening on the makeshift sleeve he made of cardboard to protect the blade. The Disston medallion is missing from the handle but the Disston etching and logo is still visible on the blade. The handle finish has some peeling but there are no cracks to is still in beautiful shape. This is a used item it may have had more than one owner so I cannot guarantee smoke free or pet free.
