This auction is for an extremely nice Vintage Sony TR-724 Transistor Radio with 2 Bands. These are very uncommon and the case is perfect shape with no fading. Cracks or chips. The two-tone coral and white case really sets this one apart along with its round 2 band dial and tapered speaker grill. Comes with its original black case and AM antenna. Has volume, tuning, fine tuning, and AM/SW selection. I was able to pull in stations loud and clear on both bands. Runs on one 9V battery. Would make a terrific addition to any collection! It operates on a single 9 volt battery. Not included. It was sold by the Consolidated S.M. Corporation and features a coral and white plastic case with black, gold and silver metal trim and a leather case with seperate earphone pocket(earphone included. This shows normal wear and tear with no cracks noted in the case. The radio measures 3-3/4"x2-3/8"x1-1/8" I did try powering it up and it tries to work but sounds like it is out of alignment. 1958 Zenith Royal 500 Long Distance Owl Eyes Transistor Radio with case- Black
1958 Zenith Royal 500 Deluxe Owl Eyes Transistor Radio w/Leather Case A little research indicted this radio was manufactured by Zenith in 1958 with chassis No. 8AT40Z2. It was the 500D model- the D is for distance. The case is black and gold and it has the"owl eye" knobs for volume and tuning. Measures 5-3/4" x 3-1/4" x 1-1/4" and weighs 1 lb 7.8 oz with case. The radio works great and picks up stations strong. The body is in very nice condition with some minor sratching in the front of the plastic face. See picture. There are very minor light scuffs on the back and sides that are typical for a radio of this age. The gold metal is still bright. No dents in the grill has very fine sratching on grill. The tuning and volume dials turn smooth and tight and maintain their black painted lettering on gold background. The ... moregold letting is very visable in the ZENITH name on the front and in the stamped lettering on the front and back, see pictures. That being said, the radio displays beautifully and is fully functional. The battery compartment is clean with almost zero corrosion on the contacts. The inside of the radio is also very clean and the paper labels are in good condition. This should make a great addition to your radio collection or to use as a daily player. Comes with a fine top grain cowhide case which is in excellent condition. This was in my husband's family for all these years. He remembers it from summer picnics. Here is a very cool 1958 ARVIN Model 8584 Transistor Portable Radio– great condition and color. 1958 was a year of huge fins and chrome on cars. Space everything in the news and designs were innovative and daring– the handle-aerial combination is visually radical. This radio was well preserved in an estate and has no chips or cracks, there is one small dimple to the right of ARVIN an inch or so– harmless– the Arvin applied silver metal badge, blue body, aluminum trim and all very nice– the radio has not been tested electronically– sold as is. The white aerial cover removes easily– it fits into two spaces with prongs– unless it was more firmly attached, this was an odd design as well. This was in my parents old house and just needed some cleaning to bring it back to life! I do not know very much about vintage radios so I will do my best to describe this Zenith Royal 280 transistor radio and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to message me. It comes with 4 new Duracell AA batteries. The radio picks up some stations in the area and that is good considering I live way out in the country(and inbetween mtns. I cleaned the radio up(removed exterior dust and such) using a mild cleaner. Q-tips, and a soft rag. I will leave it up to the buyer to do any more cleaning as I did not want to mess it up. This is a vintage transistor radio. It is"shirt pocket" sized or SMALLER. It measures measures just 2& 5/8 inches tall and is less than 2& 1/2 inches wide. It runs on a single"AA" sized battery. I tried it out. But could only get"static. It is VERY clean on the inside. It comes with the original box, which reads: COLUMBIA 8 TRANSISTOR MICRO-RADIO.MODEL NO. 2452.MADE IN JAPAN. Includes the original carry case and unused earphone. The original battery and instructions are NOT present. The radio displays as FINE- it is almost like new, except there is just a bit of texture on the BACK side of the radio, caused by decades of contact with the vinyl inside the carry case.
