From Grandfather's Estate. Germany handmade glass marbles 1927 or earlier. Marbles look broken but smooth to the touch. Pontil is evident. There are 3 different sizes. If you refer to pictures they are separated into 3 groups. Most are in mint condition and a couple in near mint(small chip) Mint: A marble that is in original condition. The surface is unmarked and undamaged. I found a bunch of marbles at my moms house. I started researching and I found 2 like this on ebay. From the information I found this is a very rare marble. This marble is 1/2" and is believed to be a Pee Wee. I am not a marble expert. I am looking for my info. on ebay. it is really a cool marble and when I saw it I knew it was different. Supposedly these were never marketed, they were made in Ottawa Il. at the Peltier Marble Company. The workers got to take them home. So they were never sold in stores. Maybe thats why there are only 2 others on ebay.

This is a very Cosmic specimen with snow.Bubbles and a 6 point STAR! Star is very tiny but very pronounced. You can see it under my first magnified photo. After closer inspection I found a second star under magnification also. Marble is wet mint, some micro pinpricks, as-made bubble pop and very light pocket wear. I ship in boxes not mailers. Millipore Milligen Biosearch T hermoelectric/P eltier C old P late Model ELSHCH001 For what its worth. Looks identical to a Genomic Solutions cold plate. Probably both re-branded from some other manufacturer. This is a large capacity. ~6"x14" active area cold plate. Not alot of information available about it- but its not very complicated. I would have guessed early 90's vintage from the corporate history of Millipore/Milligen. Found the PC board inside marked with 4.4.89. Might be the date. Might be a secret code. As far as I can tell this works properly and is in good condition. Set to maximum. The plate chills rapidly to about 44-45˚F, then cycles on/off to maintain that temperature. My guess is that it was set this way at the factory and is not supposed to get colder. Other setpoints will give you some higher temperature. ... moreAlthough you'll have to map out the knob response on your own. You biotech/ genomics folks will know if that is sufficient for your work or not. Magnetic stirrer is built into the left side of the plate. Works well and very quiet. Based on how fast it drops down to minimum temp. The TEC unit seems to have plenty of capacity so if you want to hack it to hit a colder temperature it probably wouldnt be too hard. The temperature controller appears to be a very basic on/off relay type system. It might be as easy as changing the potentiometer to hit a colder temp on the plate. Or sticking a resistor in the right place. You could do a retrofit with a more modern TEC control board. There is plenty of space inside the case. And the wiring shouldnt be too mysterious if you're electronically inclined. Unit is heavy. ~40 lbs, and measures about 19"x17" x6" so expect shipping to be expensive. The banding is distinct evenly distributed, forms the appearances of a"Turkey Head” with a well healed tail. Signs of Unhealed surface air bubbles, and a unhealed overlap are present. This marble has lost some of its luster no longer“wet” with indications of ware and use as a gamming marble. Ware commensurate with its use. The marble still has a Bright appearance.
