Sovtek Big Muff Bubble Font"T" Shaped PCB Guitar Bass Fuzz This is a Sovtek Big Muff dated September 1995 version 7C. 3rd edition Bubble Font in very good condition. Note it predates the CE markings on the back of the pedal where made in Russia is printed. Only a few scratches to the side are documented in the picture. The tone knob has a little scratchiness when turned but it’s not in the sound path when the pedal is played. A little Deoxit would take care of this but I do not like using it on vintage pedals. The side of the plastic red led is also broken(you have to look up-close to see it) but the LED works as intended. The pedal works as intended and sound amazingly good. It’s the best Muff I have ever tested. It is great on guitar and great on bass due to its extensive bass frequencies. I purchased this pedal from a small music ... morestore in Texas a few years ago. I auditioned it at length before buying it. The pedal sounded shockingly good. It also had a huge amount of gain. Later on as I had a chance to inspect the PCB I understood why. T shaped printed circuit boards were a short lived version of the Bubble Font Muff. What is puzzling about this one is the quality of the components and the fact that each component is marked on the board. I sent pictures to Kit Rae who is the foremost expert on Muffs. At first he mentioned that he had never seen such components on a Muff. He did some research and got back to me that he was able to find some similar components on some picture. Here the resistors and capacitors used look high quality compared to the run of the mill pedal of this era. I also email a picture of the board to Matt at Stomp Under Foot and he asked me about the values used for this pedal. As he reviewed them he got back to me and confirmed they were standard for this pedal. Remained the mystery of the markings. Note that they are under the components and that the dating of the pedal is in the same writing. After looking at more pictures Kit Rae concluded that this pedal is most likely a proto
