Here's the original E-mu Proteus/1 Digital Sound Module. These are 16 voice multi-timbral and have some of the greatest. Smoothest most realistic voices that were stuffed into one of these boxes. When these units first came out you couldn't buy one for months, but I managed to find this one at a music store in California and snapped it up for an even thousand dollars. Our little duo used this unit for lots of years to supply voices for our sequencer thru MIDI connection and it worked super for us. Don't know if I have the manual anymore, but I'll do some looking. I'm sure that it's probably online somewhere. This box is in pretty good shape and has very few scratches. My bad luck with Cobra's continues! I bought this computer with just s few dives on it. For my personal use. Everything seemed to be in order on the surface, settings able to be changed, time, PSI, etc all seemed to work OK. I took it on a shallow dive, and although it showed the proper tank pressure, it never went into dive mode, just showig ACT, as if it was being activated by water contact, but no depth shown. I took it much deeper. And the same result, At home, when soaking with my other gear, it started to beep and show various depths and bottom times that were never dived. I had to remove the battery to stop the beeping. Once I replaced the battery, it seemed to go back the way it was, that is, with surface items OK, but certainly no good for diving.
