VTG 70's Purple Felt Foxx Wa & Volume Pedal / Wah / TDK 5103 Inductor / Works!
This old pedal certainly shows wear. But is built like a tank. I sprayed the pots& lubed-adjusted the wheel inside. It seems to work just fine. Unit has 5 different wah-wah settings(the switch on front) when you press the pedal all the way down, the wah turns off and it becomes a volume pedal. This volume works the opposite of most pedals. When the pedal is all the way up, the volume is down& vice versa. My reverb made a slight"pop" when I changed wah settings. Nothing bad. But I did notice it. There is supposed to be a tag on the front that shows the different settings, but it is missing. Pedal requires 1-9 volt battery(not included) Please see pictures for actual item& condition. Up for Buy-it-Now here is a Brand New Vintage Windings PULTEC Style EQP-1A Toroidal Audio Filter Inductor Coil Matched Stereo Pair Up for Buy it Now here is a new product from my company Vintage Windings. These are not like most other replacement inductors for Pultec EQs. Most others are either cheap ferrite pot core or shell core inductors. The first original Pultecs used two toroidal coils that were switched in combination to make the necessary values. The later EQP-1A's used one tapped toroid. This toroid is like the later style. It is a slightly larger than original. This coil has a MPP Core(Molybdenum Permalloy Powder Core) that was specifically chosen for this application. It was wound using the same techniques used by Western Electric for winding toroids. Western Electric was responsible for the design of the EQP filter section ... moreas it was licensed by Pultec for use in the EQP-1A. The coil is wound much more accurately than the originals and has a foil mu shield. Note: This auction is for the Inductor Coils only. I have the whole EQP-1A filter unit, including caps& case in another auction. This BIN auction is for two(2) matched coils for stereo operation. They are very tightly matched as they are wound. Not just chosen because they are similar. Note: I put together a.pdf of a solid state EQP-1A3 building project. The file gives a detailed account of building an excellent sounding solid state EQP. I've had this on my pedalboard for over 4 years! But. I've been changing things around, so it doesn't see much use anymore. I personally modified this in all the right places, I believe. The mods include: true bypass, added d.c. power jack(no more battery option) the Whipple" inductor, 100k ICAR style pot, BC109C high gain transistors, vintage Switchcraft jacks, upgraded tone caps and input resistor change so there is no drop in volume when the unit is switched on. Pretty much a straight up Clyde McCoy with added benefits. Physically in very nice condition, with the exception of the bottom plate, which has holes where it was hard mounted to my board. Also, a hole at the rear, drilled by previous owner, in which I placed a chrome plug. Oh yeah, it sounds fantastic! Includes original carry bag.
