On offer here is a fully restored and immaculate Bubble Gum Pink Ericofon. I have just the one example of this colour available. Which is a high specification 2 pack painted shell. It's not a colour that was ever sold back in the day, but the phone is otherwise a standard Australian 60's issue phone and lead. I'm thinning my own collection and decided I can part with this. It is in fully working order, and has been fully restored by me, which doesn't mean it was simply polished up. The receive audio is nice and loud, unlike many unserviced units being sold on eBay. The fascia and dial are virtually perfect with barely a mark. The red hangup button is bright and shiny, and of course has been internally lubricated so there's none of the usual sticking problem. The rotary dialer mechanism has been fully lubricated. All the contacts cleaned, and the speed adjusted to the correct 10PPS, so you can actually dial out. It's fitted with a new original Ericofon coiled lead and Australian plug to make it easy to connect. It's also fitted with a new gasket. You'll be hard pressed to find a cleaner example of an original Ericofon let alone one in perfect working order like this one. Telegraph key. Sounder and buzzer are all mounted on a grey crinkle–painted metal base. The raised housing on which the sounder and buzzer are mounted appears to act as a resonator. No maker is identified but I'm pretty sure this unit was manufactured for U.S. Signal Corp military use, probably WWII era. The telegraph key is a standard J-38 model as manufactured by Lionel Corporation, with terminals for either"line" or"telephone" signal transmission The J-38 key has its original bakelite base which is mounted to the metal base. The metal base has code charts for both International and American Morse Code printed in black on a yellow background along alternate sides of the telegraph key. No manufacturer marks are evident on the sounder or buzzer. Base measures 7-inches by 12-inches and the height at top of sounder is ... more6-inches. Up for sale is a practice electric telegraph sounder and Morse Code key. We had a gentleman make sure it was working correctly prior to listing. So I am selling it in working order. It measures 6 ½ inches long and almost 3 ½ inches wide at the base. Naturally the nickel plated key sticks out farther on the end. The key has the word SPEED on the top. I did not notice any other markings. We purchased it from an older gentleman who worked for the railroad as a depot agent. It was part of his estate. Great vintage item. Don’t miss it!
