Vintage '30's Art Deco 'Rocket/Torpedo' Black Duncan Glass Vase w/Silver Overlay
Up for auction is a stunning vintage 1930's black glass vase with very attractive silver overlay from the Duncan& Miller Glass Co.of Pennsylvania. Measures 9.5' 24 cm. tall and is 5.75" 14.5 cm across the top. Very solid and heavy. Weighing in at 3 lb. 14.3 oz/ 1766 gr. Unusual Deco'Rocket' or'Torpedo' shape. Tri-footed with a silver rim and three sets of wonderful dogwood like blossoms/branches extending down the side. In excellent condition; no scratches. Chips etc. to the glass Silver still shiny but there area few small areas where the overlay has peeled away. However underneath is a pattern that has been left behind so it actually gives these areas a deliberate'two tone' look and doesn't detract at all from the visual impact of this piece. Please note that any'dark' shadowy areas of ... moresilver in the photos are not tarnish but are my reflection in the glass. Tried to photo this without a reflection. To no avail! The silver around the rim was laid on in one piece with the branches on the side. There are no join marks between the upper rim and the sides. Obviously the work of highly skilled and detail oriented craftsmen. No maker's marks to be found but it has been suggested by a local antique dealer of excellent reputation tells me that he's"99.9% positive" that it is a circa 1930's product of the Duncan Miller Glass Company of Pennsylvania. This sideboard is part of a dining room suite. But it can also be used separately in a living room, dining room, or foyer. Approximate measurements in inches are as follows: 18.5 deep, 61.25 wide, 36 tall. The set also includes a scaled-down breakfront. A double pedestal table, and chairs. Condition is generally good. But a strip of veneer has come off the top right corner(see picture) and the veneer on the top edge of one drawer needs to be re-glued. You will also need to make a few touch-ups here and there. This is a very nice elegant small Duncan& Miller etched flora bridal flower basket with the scalloped opening. The backstamp"PAT'D" used by Duncan& Miller is clearly visible and imprinted inside on the bottom of the vintage crystal basket. Description The circa is between 1940s-1950s for the vintage crystal bridal basket. The crystal basket has six glass panels. An etched flora, and leaf pattern with a ... morefeathered handle. Also, the vintage basket has a star burst design on its base. The measurements for vintage piece is 6-1/4" inches tall and the scalloped opening is 4-1/4" x 2-5/16. The bottom base is 2-1/2" inches in diameter. As mentioned earlier. T he Duncan and Miller Etched Leaf Flora Bridal Flower Basket is in good condition. There are air bubbles on the top of feathered handle along with a chip underneath the top of handle. Initially it looked like part of the design etching until examined under a jeweler's loupe. There seems to be some confusion regarding the name of Duncan& Miller Glass Company. I have seen some eBay listings with"Duncan Miller" as the name of the maker. 1960's Duncan WOOD Disney World of Color PROTOTYPE- Vintage
I'm not sure. But this may be the only one of these Duncan yo-yos out there! The difference is this is a WOOD Prototype Disney World of Color.not plastic. It was described by Don Duncan Jr. this way: QUOTE.1960's Duncan World of Color Wood Prototype, Bi-color red/white.UNQUOTE. This standard-sized, tournament-shaped yo-yo is in excellent, never played with condition. The string doesn't even have a loop on the end of it. The one little spot on the side(see pic) is most likely a factory flaw. It has silver glitter in the paint. The red side has a concave disk with"Duncan ® Yo-Yo Return Top” stamped in gold. The white side has a concave disk with“Disney’s Wonderful World of Color” stamped in gold. If you’re a serious yo-yo collector, this would certainly be a stand-out in your collection! 1960's EXTREMELY RARE Duncan Imperial Yo-Yo - Vintage
If you're a serious collector you should take a good look at this very special 1960's standard-sized Duncan Imperial yo-yo. It's possible you haven't seen one before with a"fan" pattern in the plastic. It has the Fleur-de-lis hot-stamped logo. The following is a description of this yo-yo in Don Duncan Jr's own words: Mid 1960's Duncan Imperial Fleur-de-lis. 1-axle, fan mold, deep red" It has the registration mark ® below the hyphen on the word"Yo-Yo" showing that it is a"golden age" Imperial and was produced before Flambeau took over the company. It appears to have it's original, unused string(see pic) Because it's loose, I'm not going to call it mint. It's near mint. Vintage 1950'S Duncan Shrieking Sonic Satellite Return Top Yo-yo Two Color Yoyo
This is a cool vintage Duncan Shrieking Satellite Yo-yo. The color combination is unlike any of the others we could find in our research. Though it does have a healthy amount of chipping. The original string is missing, and the two halves of the yo-yo can be separated from each other. This may be intentional to allow the string to be replaced or they have come loose over time. It would only take a single drop of Elmer's to permanently bond them back to each other, but we will leave that up to a potential buyer. The halves fit smoothly together, but only in one alignment, the correct alignment was easily found by trial and error, but we will ship the yo-yo with the halves placed together in the proper alignment. HUGE Vintage DUNCAN CHESS SET** 8" King** Glazed Ceramic
HUGE GLAZED CERAMIC VINTAGE DUNCAN CHESS SET This vintage chess set is gorgeous! With large pieces. It is beautifully glazed in dark brown and tan colors that contrast nicely. The kings stand approximately 8" tall(more like 8 1/2" to the very top of the ball on his hat) and have a 3" diameter base. Since these are ceramic and are older pieces. There are some pieces that show crazing- this does not detract from their appearance and for the most part isn't noticeable. Crazing is what happens with older ceramics and stoneware that has been glazed when they start developing fine lines in the glaze. Most collectors feel that it shows the true age of the piece and does not attract from the value) While most of the pieces are in excellent condition. There are a few flaws. I have tried to illustrate these in the included pictures. ... moreThe dark king has a chip out of the base on his backside. One of the dark knights has a very small chip in the hair line. One of the tan knights also has a small chip in the hair line- it also has what looks like a chip out of the base but it is under the glaze. One of the tan pawns also has an indentation that could have been a chip but it is under the glaze as well. These flaws do not detract from the overall appearance and aren't really noticeable unless under close examination.
