Up for sale is very rare. Especially in such good condition, H. Chretien Hypergonar Hi-Fi-2 Hi Fi 2 Anamorphic Lens with 2x squeezed ratio. Serial number: 12821. KIng of horizontal flares and oval bokeh! Mint condition. No scratches, spots, condensation marks, separation on glass(front and rear) no fungus- see the pictures. Minor signs of use on the barrel and some tiny cleaning marks on glasses. Focus is stiff but smooth. Some play but all in norm. Hypergonar is THE original cinemascope lens. Invented by the astronomer Henri Chrétien in 1926. This system was first used for the Film"The Robe" The special characteristic anamorphic look(outstanding lens flares. Oval bokeh, cinematic texture) which specially this Hypergonar lens provides, makes it the perfect choice as an anamorphic companion for the modern DSLR. The aim of later ... morelens producers was to eliminate some of these characteristics, e.g. by multicoating the lenses to reduce lens flare, but now for young people with a cinematic approach to DSLR cameras, this lens creates a much better look than any other anamorphic lens around, including the highly praised Iscorama.
