NICE Vintage Aires Viscount 35mm Rangefinder Camera, Light Meter, Original Boxes
Wow! Take a look at this excellent condition old 35mm rangefinder camera and extras that I just came across in a local estate. The camera is an Aires“Viscount” with its original leather case(all intact. Including the strap) and original box. It also came with a very good to excellent condition matching light meter, also with a leather case and its original box(it even has its original instruction pamphlet– however, either I don’t know how to use it or it’s not working because I don’t see the needle on the light meter move) The camera’s serial number is 2841827 and the lens is an H Coral 1:1.9 f=4.5cm serial number 1121331. Of course I wasn’t able to actually put film in it and test it out. But the film advance and shutter does work(but I can’t vouch for accuracy) the aperture mechanism works smoothly and there is no oil on the blades, and ... morethe lens is in nearly perfect condition– I don’t actually see any issues at all with it– it is nice and clear even when I shine a flashlight in it- it had the orange filter on it when I purchased it) and I see no fungus or internal dust(I can’t imagine there isn’t a bit of dust if you look hard enough, but I didn’t see any) and the rangefinder mechanism seems to work(again, I can’t vouch for accuracy, but the“double image” focusing system appears to work fine) The camera has been used and has some scratches here and there on the body, and there is a little edge loosening of the black covering on the end piece that slides to open the camera, but as I hope you can see in my photos overall it is in really nice condition and displays very well. Vintage Western Union Telegraph Co DB meter-model "3-A"- in oak case with handle
Here is a vintage DB(decibel) meter from the Western Union Telegraph Co. It was manufactured by the Daven Company of Newark. NJ and has a Weston meter inside. It is a model 3-A. It has an oak case that measures 6.5" by 7" by 4.5" high. It has a leather handle as well. The case is flaking off finish and could use refinishing, however, the case is not split or broken and is still very sturdy. The handle is missing stitching in it. I think this rig was used to measure sound levels on the lines to see what the attenuation was. It has instructions as to use and seems to have been calibrated some time in the past. It has a 1/4" jack input or two binding posts to attach the lines to. The meter has a 600 ohm impedance as well. I have no way of testing it but I'm sure it was an accurate piece of equipment in the day. RARE VINTAGE(1934) TEMPOPHOT T8 LIGHT METER IN ORIGINAL BOX. This is a most interesting rare and highly collectable light meter. It was made in Germany in 1934 by Metrawatt and it's the forerunner to their Horvex. It’s the Tepophot T8 which is supposedly three stops faster than the original. Here’s the spec: Maker: Metrawatt Model: Tempophot T-8 Circa: 1934 Designers: A. Bernhard and G. Beyrich Cell type: Selenium Measure type: Reflecting/Averaging It's meant to be held at eye-level and the selenium cell is on the back. The good part of about the eye-level layout is that you get a big cell and it gathers a lot of light. Which makes it more sensitive in low-light conditions. The bad part is that it's easy to hold it in your hand with your fingers across the cell, which will give you a bad reading, so be careful when you’re using ... moreit. The other thing which really makes it nifty is that little lever switch at the top right. When it's pointed at the black dot. You read the black numbers on the scale(2 seconds, 1 second, 1/2, 1/5th, 1/10th, 1/25th, 1/50th, 1/100th, 1/300th respectively) When it's on pointed to the red dot, you read both the red and black numbers on the scale(1/25th, 1/50th, 1/100th, 1/250th, 1/500t, 1/1000th, 1/3000th respectively) Like the Gossen Ombrux, this one has a little resistor shunt which changes how the meter reacts to high and low light levels. If you're off the scale on black, you flip to red, and vice-versa. It's a very clean and simple design. The last little bit of niftiness is how the calculator dial works. You set the film speed(DIN or European Scheiner) on that slider. And then as you rotate it, the outer dial inside the meter window rotates with it. Or you could do it backward: turn the dial so that the meter points to the shutter speed you want to use. And then read what your slider is aimed at. Griffin& George Air Meter/ Anemometer. Extra high speed model- No. L2100 Believed to date from the 1950's/ early 1960's. It appears to be in perfect working order. The vanes spin freely in even the gentlest of breezes and the dials all line up perfectly. There are a few minor marks to the black finish but none are serious. There are no scratches in the glass. Vintage Camera Kodak Pony 135 w Case & Light Meter; Anaston Lens, Flash 200 Shut
This is a very old camera; last serviced in July 1961. The leather case is a mess but I'm including it to protect the camera. The camera has been in storage for a lot of years so I'm not sure what to tell you. Everything seems to move and shift. I can't tell if the shutter moves but the button goes up and down. It does need a damp rag here and there. This is a one owner camera and never abused in any way. The light meter is a Vivitar#30 and seems to be working fine. SIMPSON 260 SERIES 3 VOLT OHM MILLIAMMETER METER Vintage
This auction is for one Simpson 260 Series 3 with no cracks. No cracks in housing. The glass is loose but not broken. The battery compartment has some corrosion on the metal battery terminals. It may still work, but I do not have leads any more to test it so it is being sold for parts. It worked before being stored and the batteries corroding the terminals.
