This listing is for a vintage Springfield Weather Station decorative wall mount. It contains a thermometer. Barometer and humidity meter. The base is made of press board with a wood look to it, approx 15 inches long and 5 inches wide. The gold tone frames are plastic, the lenses are plastic. The lens diameters are approx 2 3/4 inches. The piece is in good condition for its age with several marks of wear throughout, both on the press board base and gold tone lens frames, please review all photos for details. Vintage Copper Home-Made DC Volt Meter, Unique and Intriguing! One of a Kind.
You are bidding on a unique home-made volt meter in a soldered copper case. The movement is made from an old speedometer. Probably a Model C Stewart and Clark, used in Model T Fords around 1913. It has an internal resistance of about 300 ohms and reads 30 with approximately 1.5 volts DC input. It was built in the late-teens or early 1920s by C.B. Kay in Montague, California. This item comes from a well maintained shop. All parts have been carefully inspected. And any imperfections are fully disclosed in the listing. Please send any questions. It has scratches and marks on it. There is a piece of clear tape dried up on the volt meter window though it does not appear to be covering a crack. I plugged this tester in then plugged another device into the onboard outlet. The result was very anti-climatic as nothing happened. I flipped the three position switches in a bunch of combinations without result. It is possible that this thing needs a new fuse but I can't tell as its a paper wrapped fuse.
