Reverb, distortion) in perfectly preserved condition because these amps are typically the workhorse of the journeyman jazzer. But I've got one here and it's MINT with nary a scratch. Amp is in amazing condition. Switches and pots feel brand-new. No rips or tears in tolex. Faux leather handle has absolutely no wear. Original 15" eminence speaker isn't even broken in. The Velodyne HGS-15 is an audiophile grade. Servo controlled subwoofer powered by a 3000 watt peak Class D amplifier. Selling my well-used Ibanez Tube Screamer 1x12 combo tube amp. 15 watts via 2 6V6 and 2 12Ax7. 12" Celestion Seventy 80, triode/pentode switch, plenty of speaker output options. Here's the full disclosure on this amp: this thing has been worked very hard for about three years, used for scores of live shows and dozens of sessions, often at or near full volume, and it's just ready for some service as you would expect with any tube amp. Two times at rehearsals in the past three months or so the amp has cut out on me. Both times I turned it off, waited 30 seconds, turned it back on again and proceeded to play for hours with no trouble. I bought it used and have never had it serviced, not sure if the previous owner ever had anything done to it. ... moreThe amp has been rock solid otherwise and has never once let me down on a gig or at a session. All knobs and switches function as they should. Tone-wise, it's no boutique amp, let's not kid ourselves, but it has never failed to offer up a good solid workable tone and I have been able to get through many jobs with only the amp and no pedals thanks to the boost and built-in Tube Screamer features. I am wanting to try something different, maybe in a Marshall or Vox(the never-ending tone quest must continue! so this one is on the auction block. Cosmetically the amp is in decent shape. There are some red scuffs on the top which I don't think show in the pics, and other various scuffs and nicks in the tolex, but it's still very presentable. Sounds great. Power tubes have been replaced with older NOS Russian Sovtek. But the preamp tubes are the original Fender logo that were in it originally and they still sound great. The grill cloth has weird stains on it from the previous owner pulling the front panel off and trying to hose it off. The wood frame for the front panel is dyed black instead of painted. So the black dye ran on to the grill cloth. No biggie. Other than this the amp is very very clean with no ugly tolex tears or scratches anywhere. This amp sounds fantastic just like it is. RARE 1940's Federal Electric Air Raid Fire House Siren Type A 12V 15 Amp Works
Here is an opportunity to own a piece of history. The guy I got this siren from gave me some history on it. I did a bit of searching and it sounds legit but none the less makes the part interesting. This siren was on an older oyster boat that his parents had and were restoring. They restored it to be a pleasure vehicle so any and all items that were in place for fishing or commercial work were removed. This oyster boat was in service back in teh 40's when the oyster wars were going on in Maryland and Virginia. Seems there were specified territories that fishermen could use and from the info I could find things were not all that civil back then when it came to the business of collecting oysters. In any case there was a boat named the Tiny Lou and it was a 48 foot oyster boat. This is the one that the siren came from. No matter what the ... morehistory is on it the siren is a Federal Type A and is a 12 volt unit and that is handy as most boats cars and other places you may wish to attach this item to would have a 12 volt source. The siren looks amazing and sounds of loud as well. I took the unit apart and stripped what paint was remaining and brought this item back to life. It is very nice and would be a nice addition to any boat car ambulance etc. I am not sure of all the uses it had or has had over the years but it has a few minor dings and some minor pits but I left all that alone as it adds to the character of the unit. I took a lot of pictures of the unit in hopes of showing how well it looks but if I missed something that would be important to you please let me know and I will try to address the question or concern. I have seen several Federal sirens of this style but most are either 110 volt or 24 volt. I could not find any more 12 volt ones so I would suggest this to be quite a rare piece.
