This is a late 1960's or early 1970's Kustom Charger bass amp. It was made in Chanute. Kansas, USA. Model 200-0216-00. It is original and complete. Everything works as it should, including the pilot lamp. No scratchy pots. It has the original 15 inch round ceramic magnet CTS speaker. It is loud and works great for bass or guitar. As ALL old Kustom amps, this one thumps when you turn it on and there is a light hiss at idle. The amp has normal or average wear. It is as solid as a rock. The black insets are missing from the handles. The bottom is missing some naugahyde. These amps have great full classic rock tone. Awesome clean sound or turn it up for classic CCR swamp vibe. Fender Blues Junior 15 watt Amp Cream Circuit Board TUBE AMP w/ Weber Ferromax
This was my first tube amp. Which I bought second-hand about four years ago. The previous owner implied that he was the first owner and he told me that it hadn't been modified, but when I looked more closely at it once I was home I realized that the speaker had been upgraded to a ceramic Weber Ferromax. This was cool, because it is a significantly better speaker than the stock speaker, but that meant that I was at least the third owner. For full disclosure- at certain frequencies. I hear a vibration that I haven't been able to trace. It doesn't seem to be an electronic problem, but more of a physical vibration, like some piece of metal rattling. For example, playing the A string on the 4th or 5th fret causes it, but only at high volumes. Maybe this is just part of playing a loud tube amp. After reading a lot about troubleshooting ... moreonline. I checked my tube sockets and realized another modification: the second preamp tube socket(known as V2) has been replaced. See photo) I've tried to photograph this so that you can see how the circuit board has some minor burn marks from whoever fixed the V2 tube socket. I don't know much about soldering, but the connections seem okay to me. I honestly don't think that this has compromised the amp; it sounds great. The signal to noise ratio is extremely low. When I'm plugged in but not playing, even with the VOLUME(preamp) knob at 4 and MASTER knob at 4, it's practically silent. You might not even realize that the power is on. Clean tones are beautiful and they start to break up nicely at about 5 or 6 on the volume knob. Even with the VOLUME knob at 12, you won't get harsh distortion, just a warm tube crunch. Carvin DCM1015 Stereo Power Amp 1000 Watts amplifier + 2 built in 15 band EQ's
This Carvin is a space and time saver with its built in equalizers. The unit sounds fantastic. But the amp should be operated with it's volume controls set to max. One channel can intermittently get louder than the other if set to less than max. This does not necessarily have to be a problem. As most of us keep the amp controls at or near max anyway. But if the volume controls are set to low. The unit will sometimes ignore the volume control and go to max(on one channel. Apparently one of the potentiometers gets an intermittent short. Now you might want to go in there and replace the volume control, But I just kept it on max and controlled the volume from the mixer with no problems. See rear pic for wattage and ohm details. AMPEG M-15 Big M 1960 Blue Flair VIintage tube guitar combo amplifier amp
Serial number on inside label indicates this is a 1960 Ampeg M-15. Also known as the big M. Has the more rare pre 1962 Blue Flair speckled tolex. Handle was missing when I got it. I am not sure if all of these came out of the factory with the front logo across the top as there does not appear to be any evidence at all of the logo ever being on this one(no holes glue marks) giving the impression it never had one. I don't know if some of the tubes are original, and little about electronics n general. The two 6L6 tubes are a mismatch, and there is certainly no evidence of any kind of melt down. Someone crossed out the tubes on the tube chart and indicated some alternates. I don't even know if Ampeg did it in the factory, so please look at the pics and judge for yourself. All that said the amp works good. And has a fat buttery tone, the ... moretremelo works and the speaker(appears to be CTS original) is definitely not blown! Certainly not a load of power but gobs of tone. With better and matched tubes it can likely be enhanced more. Even though this amp is working well keep in mind I am selling it as is as found and will not guarantee the performance once the owner gets it. The orignal hardwired footswitch works. I will ship this amp with the tubes unplugged and safely packed inside the amp. There is some surface rust and minor pitting on the metal parts here and there but the amp looks good for its age. There are a good number of bumps and nics on the tolex and some small portions could be glued back down but no super major gouges or tears. Again this amp is being sold AS IS, though I do guarantee it will not arrive DOA. I will only ship this amp to those in the lower 48 states in the USA.
