Up for auction is this Vintage D&A 15 Meter CW Transmitter Model PDX-400 Tube Amplifier. This amp is in good condition. I plugged the amp in and it powers on fine. The tubes on the inside glow. This is the only testing I did on the amp. I do not know how to further test the amp. The amp is in Good cosmetic condition. There is nothing broken or missing on the amp. The amp has all of its knobs and buttons present and intact on the amp. The amp does show the normal signs of use with minor surface scratches but nothing to take away from its appearance. The amp is heavy. The amp measures approx. 7 1/2” tall by 17” wide by 10 3/4” deep. I took a lot of pictures to show you what you are receiving. VINTAGE WILDER HAND WIRED BASS/KEYBOARD AMP & SPEAKER CABINET 100WT 15" LESLIE
Vintage Wilder bass/keyboard hand wired head and cabinet. I believe this was made around 1966-1967 era in St. Louis. MO. It is 100 watt all solid state power and can get VERY loud. Its all original, turns on and works fine. Red power light on rear panel lights up and all 1/4" jack inputs work. The pots are a bit scratchy and could use a good cleaning Im sure. The rotating horn puts out good sound, but the previous owner removed the motor(or it burned up) that spins the horn. Also the motor is wired in for a basic foot switch to turn the Leslie horn on and off(on back of cab) You can pick up Leslie motors 1 and 2 speed on Ebay for pretty cheap. Also there are other motors you can put in there also from other brands. When you give the horn a fast spin by hand, the horn sounds so chorusy beautiful. There are some scratches on the face plate as seen in the photos. Sounds great& the EQ is very active in these amps. Top handel plastic caps are long gone as seen in the photo. This thing is a significant cut above other 15-watt amps- Fender Blues Jr. Epiphone Electar 30(surprisingly good, I might add) Ampeg Jet II R(more touch-sensitive and vintage sounding than the others, but not in a league with the Trace for transient attack, midrange liquidity, speed, or transparency) Crate Vintage Club 20. The Trace Elliot Velocette makes them all ... moresound thick and unresponsive or hash and full of sonic glare. And if you've been thinking of a Mesa Subway Blues, get this instead. The 10" speaker in the Mesa sounds very thin and bright. The bass response in the Velocette is the best I've heard in a single 10" speaker amp, and better than the bass in many 12" speaker amps, including the Blues Jr. This amp also serves as a poor man's Vox AC 15, which is no mystery since the tube complement is nearly identical. With volume straight up(50% you start getting into that chimey, almost percussive Voxy type of overdrive, so well known and loved on early Beatles albums. Dime the volume and you get this sweet, creamy sustained overdrive. All in all, a remarkable amp for the money. Two more things about"diming" the amp. One, it was very loud. Louder than a Blues Jr. which is highly regarded for its volume/watt ratio.
