Found at an estate sale. Comes this Awesome Beautiful Art Deco Thermometer. It measures approximately 4 inches high and 4 inches across. We believe the black plastic portion of the piece is similar type of material, like bakelite, that was used in the old art deco radios. We don't know for sure if it is bakelite or not. There is no date that we could find on this piece We have tested it and the thermometer still keeps an accurate temperature- it works. The face is framed with chrome and glass. The raised frieze wreath seems to be made of metal(we don't know what kind) and is affixed to the plastic portion. The thermometer's face has the company logo and the company's name below the logo. This item is a Vintage 1949 Weston Cadet Model 852 s/n 4040882. It is working and comes with the original carton. Film Rating, Guarantee Card, Owners manual and the strap which appears to have never been opened but does have oxidation on the connection. I believe this was the first model to have ASA. The Paper wheel does not have any torn or damaged areas. See pics as I have rolled it forward. The knob spins the paper freely but takes some getting use to to set it exactly where you desire. Best to spin it in one direction only to avoid wrapping. It is a Vintage Meter and a delicate piece of electronics. Great piece to add to the collection. Thanks for looking.WILSON.
