This auction is for 1 DAY ONLY. No 5.7.or 10 Day having to wait non sense and features a nice classic from Yamaha. The CA-810 was one of Yamaha's nicest looking amplifiers from the late 70's. Sold from 1977-1978, the CA-810 boasts the same look and design that made the CA-1010 and 2010 the desirable pieces that they are today. The look is timeless, a handsome brushed aluminum fascia with a plethora of controls and switches over a heavy iron chassis wrapped in a classy walnut wooden cabinet is what makes all the features on this amplifier standout. The CA-810 also sports large VU meters which is something Yamaha only included in their top models from the 1970's and in very expensive gear currently being produced and sold in Japan. This amplifier is one of the most natural and neutral sounding amplifiers from the 70's. The sound ... morecan best be described as very smooth, warm and articulate. I believe there is such a thing as the"Yammy Sound" I have listened to dozens of classic Marantz, Pioneer and Sansui integrated amplifiers in my years of collecting and I find that each brand has a sound characteristic that makes them very distinguishible and very unique. Included in this listing is a rare vintage Bailey Meters pressure gauge. This is a large pressure gauge measuring just over 10" across. This is a working gauge in fantastic shape and measures 0-300 on the dial. The glass face is in really nice shape for its age and is really clean with no cracks. The red coloring on the Bailey Meters logo is bright and easy to read. The white dial looks super clean as well. It does have a few small specs of white paint on the bezel. This has a 1/4 inch NPT fitting and has been tested up to 125psi here at my house on my air-compressor. VINTAGE YEW JAPANESE ELECTRONIC TEST EQUIPMENT METERS I have not been able to determine an exact date for these pieces. But they appear to be mid century and possibly WWII era but again I can not confirm that. They were made by YEW(Yokogawa Electric Works) in Japan and the Volt/Amp meter has Japanese characters on the meter face. For the Volt/Amp meter. The meter movement is metal/glass and the base is made of a plastic or celluloid material. I did touch a battery to it and the amp meter portion will move the needle and appears to be functioning, but I did not get the volt meter section to work. It may be I did not connect it correctly or it needs a little tinkering to it but the meter movement itself appears to be in good condition. It has a model no. 31 written on it and measures 4.5" x 4.5" and weighs about 1 pound. For the Ohmmeter. ... moreI do not have a way to test it as ohmmeters require batteries and there are some leads inside the unit for connection a battery but I have no idea of what kind. It looks to be made of solid brass or copper and is a heavy piece. The meter movement looks good and is not frozen and there are two screw terminals at the bottom. The meter face says it is model 125 and it measures about 6" long and about 2.5" wide and weighs well over 1 pound. Together they make a really nice collection of vintage Japanese made mid century era electronic test equipment. I included photos with an old buffalo nickel to aid as a size reference and the nickel will be included with the items. Amazing vintage homebrew HF transmitter 80-10 meters with power supply
I've come across a LOT of old homebrew projects over the years but this transmitter simply takes the cake. It's STUNNING in its execution. I was going to simply"part it out" there are a lot of really good bits inside and as an avid homebrewer myself it was tempting. But after putting this up on the bench. I simply can't just break it down. This really needs to go to someone who has the facility to put it back on the air. It's a CW/SSB transmitter/exciter for 80-10 meters. VFO controlled via an ARC-5 based VFO. I've not found the exact schematic for it- assuming it's based on many similar designs from around 1958 to 1963 in QST magazine. It was suggested that it's the November 1962 project- close but no cigar! That circuit was designed around a pair of 6146's and was a true QRO-ish transmitter(100W) ... moreThis rig is clearly an exciter- single 6DQ6 final- fine for 50-60 watts on HF but no question was intended to drive a QRO amplifier(that unfortunately wasn't a part of this acquisition) Construction is simply STELLAR. I've seldom seen amazing work like this- see the photos. I have MANY more but eBay only allows 12 so if you want a closeup of anything. Let me know. Note that I cannot take ANY additional pictures as the rig is boxed for shipping now and cannot be unpacked. What I know: after 4 days slowly coming up on a Variac(it has solid state rectifiers so very conducive to a slow"wake up" time) It's at full 780v DC output& verified as such. If the AF gain is maxed, you can hear the AF amp quietly have a fit so I'm quite sure the audio section is alive and well. I did connect a key but get nothing- and given there is no form of"manual transmit" on the front panel, I have to assume I must supply something to the RCA jack on the rear called"T/R Switch" presumably a voltage pulls in the T/R relay that is visible under the chassis. For sale a vintage stereo power amplifier Luxman M-02. Produced in Japan in the middle 80s. I'll save myself any further explanation about it. Because I assume you know what to expect from this piece of electronic art. If not just navigate to the links below. The unit is tested and fully working. Channels are equal, no overheating problems, I assume that the capacitors are still good, due to the fact the the low frequencies response is just amazing. In the past the amp was professionally serviced- 4 power transistors of the right channel were replaced. The new ones are exactly the same type, only the brand changed from Toshiba to ISC. Cosmetically, the amplifier is in a very good used condition, from 1st hand. Face plate in a great shape, just minor hardly visible marks of use, both side attachments of the face plate do have some blemishes, ... moreso does the upper edge(see pictures for details) UV meters including the background light in fully working order. All knobs in a mint condition, of course fully working, they run smooth and free of crackle. All buttons and diodes working well. The top and sides of the unit have only minor marks of use, absolutely nothing that could be disturbing. Keep in mind that the gear is more or less 30 years old The unit comes from the first hand. 3 EXPOSURE METERS& 4 EXPOSURE GUIDES CHROLON This is a very sophisticated little exposure meter. It was made in Germany by Bertram/Bewi around 1950. is the successor to the Bertram Chronos. This is the Chrolon, is quite uncommon It has a photocell behind two flip-out doors that open automatically when the lid is opened. The needle reads against a numbered scale; the reading is then transferred to the calculator dial. The meter is very compact. has a lightweight alloy body, making it one of the lightest meters around. It is finished in black& has some paint loss, see the photos. Inside it has clear exposure scales. It is no longer working. It comes with its decorative box– one end flap of the lid is missing. But it still looks good. SIXON This is a lovely Gossen Sixon exposure meter. The Sixon was one of their best selenium cell meters. ... moreIt features a numbered scale– you take the reading from the needle. turn the roller to bring the correct exposure scale into position. There is a roller blind type incident light slider. On the side is a colour temperature meter under a little cover. The selenium cell moves the needle a tiny bit in bright light. But has lost most of its sensitivity after all these years. It is in excellent condition. It comes in its original decorative box. With snake chain. SEKONIC AUTO LUMI It is one of the classic meters made in Japan by Sekonic/Copal. Who were the worlds leading makers of exposure meters. It is selenium powered& needs no battery. It is nice& compact. very easy to use with a simple match needle system. It is working but the cell has lost some sensitivity& reads a few stops low. There is a very small crack on the clear plastic dial. It comes complete with its original leather case. FOUR KODAK EXPOSURE GUIDES. Ideal for exposure meter collectors. Canonet QL17 With Canolite Flash And 2 Vintage Light Meters
Cool old Canonet Camera with 40mm 1:1.7 lens. It seems to work. Makes a click and the lever works. I'm not sure about the flash. I put batteries in and connected it but it didn't flash. I'm throwing in 2 vintage light meters. The first is the silver Sekonic and the other a Weston. Both cases are in rough shape but they both seem to work. Obviously.
