Up for sale is a very early Hickok model AC 47 mutual conductance tube tester with Hickok Multiplex socket adapter. In green velvet padded carrying case with leather handle. This was Hickok's 5th model of tube tester introduced in 1930, and is in real nice cosmetic condition, though please note that due to the age of this Hickok tester I have not plugged it in, so working condition is unknown and am selling as-is and as-found, due to being 80+ years old I'm sure some component testing should be done before powering up. Please refer to photos, this AC 47 is in great shape with only very light wear, the Hickok name plate looks great, meter windows excellent, no cracks or chips to top panel or bakelite chassis enclosure(note that top panel is ingraved with'MSOE' the original cloth covered twisted-pair AC power cord is not frayed ... moreor broken, Insides are also very nice, no obviously burned or broken components, no loose wires or any other damage, the Multiplex socket adapter also very nice. Carrying case lining VG+, the outside of case has some wear to tolex but no major damage, and all hardware present and working fine. If you collect early tube testers, here is a great example of an early Hickok mutual conductance tester.

The tube chart cards are included but looks like a couple may be missing, there is a schematic diagram of the tester. The tester measures in size 16" tall by 11" wide by 4"1/2" deep, the tester was tried and it powers up and the meter pointer does not zero out when you do the line adjustment, it does not test any tubes correctly as well but the needle does move some on the scale when its in test mode, needle does not rest on the far left as it should so looks like it will need some repair so it will be sold"as-is" for parts or restoration. This listing is for a used Nuvair Pro CO carbon monoxide tester. The unit is in nice condition and shows few signs of use. There are some scratches on the black plastic of the unit. But that's about it. The LCD screen still has plastic over it and I assume that it is scratch free. The brass fitting is in great shape, as well as the rubber hose and screw-on connecter for the sensor on the unit. It powers up fine with batteries installed. I'm not sure if this unit has been calibrated recently. But it does have a service sticker both on the case and inside the unit that show the last official calibration was on 3/12/2007. It almost eliminates the need for a“test monitor” You can quickly tell whether a problem is computer or monitor related. Conar 224 Tube Tester- Nice! Accurate! HAM Here's a very nice Conar model 224 tube tester from the back of my"closet. Conar test equipment was provided as kits for the NRI(National Radio Institute) electronics courses- a very popular and highly regarded correspondence school that operated from 1914 to 2002. The Conar 224 tube tester. Except for the added sockets, is essentially the same as the previous models 221 and 223. However, the 224 does not have a built-in roll chart, but uses a separate data manual, as by the time the 224 was produced there were simply too many new tubes to be contained on a roll chart. The Conar 224 uses the same measuring circuit as the Eico. Heath, and Knight tube testers and is based on the original Triplett model 3413 design. With care, and a bit of translation, much of the data for these other testers ... morecan also be used with Conar testers. As many kit builders had little test equipment. Conar provided no calibration controls for their tube testers, relying instead on the inherent accuracy provided by close tolerance parts in the measuring circuits. Calibration consists of checking all of these components, including the meter, and ensuring they are all within their original tolerances. This has been done. Out of tolerance components have been replaced with modern, more stable ones, and this tester is working as it should on all ranges. With care, it should be good for many more years of use. It is shown in the second photo testing a new 6L6GC tube. The tube, of course, is not included in the auction. This tester is in overall very good condition- the panel looks almost new. The case is very sturdy with the some wear to the covering. The thin plating on the hardware. However, is long gone. The tester ships with a clean reprint of the operating manual with maintenance instructions and the schematic diagram. Detailed construction steps are omitted. Also included is the 1/1/78 data book. Vintage Quick Chek Drugstore Tube Tester From 1957 in Working Order.
Up for auction is a vintage Quick Chek tube tester by Reliable Electronics Corporation from approximately 1957. I rescued it from a garage in Lancaster. CA where it had been collecting desert dust for 20 years plus. The unit is in working condition. I am using a 12SK7 Tube for demonstration purposes. These type of testers were placed in drug stores and the like for consumers to test their tubes. It is not a professional tester like the Hickok 600A. Although it allows for testing of dual plate tubes like 12AX7's. It can't test each plate separately. I believe it tests both plates simultaneously and as a result a good one will exceed the meter limits and peg it all the way to the right. I would classify the cosmetic condition to be fair or less than fair. The tube charts are intact however on the bottom of the right chart the lamination ... morehas been separated taking some of the chart with it. When you push it down with your finger it is readable.
