1935 IDEAL SHIRLEY TEMPLE COMPOSITION DOLL 18 w TAGGED DRESS ~ EXCELLENT w BOX!
This doll is in excellent condition. I think not played with in her original box. She is marked on the back of her neck Shirley Temple, and on her back also Shirley Temple with number 18. The only flaw that I see is that her eyes have crackled over the years as shown, and there is one tiny line on her inner thigh which is so minor. Also on the bottom of her yellow oilcloth shoes is written in pencil probably the little girl who owned this doll Edith as shown. I think probably easily erased as it is written in pencil but I will leave to you so I don't do any damage. She still has pink ribbon tied on both wrists, around her waist, a bow in the front of the dress, and in her hair. She has lovely bright pink colored cheeks and on her knees. Her socks are folded as though new, not played with or taken off, and her dress is only a little dusty ... morefrom being in storage all these years that I'm sure an expert could clean properly. The pleats in the dress are crisp and tight like new. She has an open mouth with 6 little teeth, real eyelashes, painted eyebrows, and painted lower eyelashes. Her lips have bright paint and two red dots in her nostrils. She has lovely thick curly hair that is only slightly flatted from being set in her box so would need a little restyling to really make her curls bounce again. Her hair is very soft and is a glued on mohair wig. Inside her box she is included with the original printed paper with Shirley Temple with printed signature, and on the other side information about the doll. The box has some wear from age, and someone has written I think a name in ink. On one end of the box is the label as shown. This is a rare find to get this Shirley Temple doll in such original condition. Please look closely at my photos for details. 21" Shirley Temple Doll Ideal Composition 1930s HTF Size Please check our store for more dolls and collectibles Description: Here's a 21" Shirley Temple doll wearing a repro of one of her original dresses. Shoes and socks. We don't know the history of this doll. It appears that her eyes were repaired at some point. The pupils appear painted and the her whites of her eyes show some yellowing. Someone has repainted some of her lower painted-on lashes. She has a couple small hairline cracks and a chip to the paint. All at her right eye. Her row of four teeth and red felt tongue are intact. One hand looks as though it was dipped in opaque white paint. She has all of her eyelashes and her dimples are very vivid. Her original wig is thick but needs some attention. It's become unglued in one area at the back of her head. There ... moreare some paint rubs around her head. Arm and leg sockets. Her torso and legs are in very good condition with little to no crazing. No chips or breaks to her finger and toes. Up for you bid consideration I have a harder to find Dark Brunette Tammy Doll by Ideal. I'm the second owner of this doll& bought her from her original owner back in 1999. She is in Excellent to Near Mint condition. Stunning facial features with High Color cheeks. Hair is in it's original set& remains as it was when I bought her. When I was looking for markings. I found 4 empty plugs on the back of her head. Knowing her history, I find it hard to believe that it was from abuse, or her original owner tugging on her hair too much. Maybe a factory error? Plugs do not look like they were wide enough to hold hair to me. She has some extremely faint marks on her legs that might appear to be dirty looking to someone, but this is in the plastic that was used to mold them. She is very clean& while displayed by me, always in a closed ... moredisplay cabinet. Her original play suit is in excellent condition with no faults, or stains. The white on it is real nice as well& not yellowed as many are at this age. Tammy" label is present. Tennis shoes a really clean. Nice& white too. She is properly marked on the back of her neck& her back. Stand she is pictured with is not included with this auction. This lovely Toni Doll from the 1940's. Made by Ideal Doll Corp. has wonderful face color, clear, blue eyes, all her lashes and eyes work smoothly. She has no face rubs! Hair is nice and thick, a deep brown color in a loose braid down her back. She is pictured in the First Edition of Pat Smith's MODERN COLLECTOR'S DOLLS. All hard plastic with jointed head. Arms and legs. Nice flat feet to stand solidly. Closed mouth, sleep eyes with lashes and painted lashes below eyes. Individual fingers with four dimples on the back of her hands. After some research. I believe this is a Miss Revlon doll by Ideal. She has the characteristic red on her fingernails and toenails and pierced ears. Her eyes open and shut well. Marked VS-22G/39 on her back which was a mark used by Ideal. 21" tall Hair net still on Not jointed. Comes with outfit shown plus several other dresses and a coat which appear to be handmade. For your consideration is a wonderful vintage 22" Ideal Saucy Walker Doll- She is marked IDEAL DOLL on her neck and back Her arms are not attached and need to be restrung. Hooks are intact She is a beautiful doll! Her braided pigtail wig is in very good condtion. Her face still has some cheek blush. Her blue flirty eyes move back and forth and open/close with ease. She has thick full lashes. Her open mouth with upper teeth and tongue are great. There is slight paint loss on the underside of her upper lip. Saucy's body is in good condition with minimal wear use and her walking mechanism is in sync with her head movement. Here for your consideration is a sweet Ideal 1950s Shirley Temple doll. She is properly marked on the back of her head. She is not in good condition. But with a little love and TLC, she could be so much better. I don't know how to work on dolls. But I felt sorry for her, and could not leave her. Quite honestly, I paid more for her than I am asking. I just wanted to find her a home. I measure her at approximately 17 inches tall. Her rooted hair looks pretty good. Mostly in the original set. Her brown sleep eyes work well and seem to have all her lashes. They look a little better in person than they do in the pictures. Maybe my flash glared them some. I don't know. Her outfit is a pair of white pants and a blue jacket. The buttons on the jacket are printed on and it closes in the front with velcro. She is wearing a cute little outfit. ... moreBut it is not her original one, as it is too big for her, although you don't realize they are too big until you check her over. Thank you for viewing my auction. Offered to you is the 12 inch tall baby sister of Velvet who is Chrissy' cousin. This little doll is call Cinnamon and she is dated on the back of her neck with the date 1973. Ideal Toy Company. Other writing on the neck buy I cannot read it. Her orange polk a dot top and shorts are original to the doll. The Shorts, being over 40 years old has resulted in the elastic losing their stretch. The top is tagged and very readable identifying it as the original outfit. Her shoes were replaced just so she would have something on her feet. Although they are not hers they may be older than she is. There is a button on her tummy with crank in the back that caused the hair to either get longer or shorted. The hair is rooted and thick, it can be very long. Needs brushing as it gets longer. Her toes, fingers and joints ... moreare all in good order, bright facial color, no fading. She is a cutie!
