This is a vintage. Ball Ideal jar in blue, with a wire bale. The front"Ball Ideal" raised lettering logo indicates it was manufactured between 1910 and 1923. The bottom has the number 8, underlined. These are called mold numbers and do not designate the size of the jar nor when it was made. This jar stands 9.5 inches high and the bottom diameter measures 4.5 inches. It holds 7.5 cups of liquid. No chips or cracks but there are very minor flea bites around the rim of both the lid and jar and minor scratching consistent with any glass item of this age. It also needs a proper washing. The wire bale shows rust around the portion secured to the jar. All in all, a lovely piece! As all of my antique/vintage and pre-loved items are pre-owned. Here is a Vintage Lot of 3 Blue Glass Ball Ideal Mason Canning Jars Quart Wire Clamp Lids ~2 are dated Pat'd July 14. 1908 Numbers on bottom are#4. 6, 10 Quart sized Glass lids are all different designs. 1 is blue and the other 2 are clear glass Some cool old-aged air bubbles in the glass Overall in generally good previously-used Vintage condition! As noted above. 1 does have that 1 1/8" chip near the top of rim, and another does have a cut/light crack or two near bottom of jar. Expect scratches, cuts and other signs of normal wear. The wire on 1 shows more rust than the others. The other 2 show some rust. Will need a more detailed cleaning than I have provided. This did not start life as a primitive but it sure looks primitive now. This is a Primary Peg Board or childrens learning toy made by The Ideal School Supply Company of St. Louis. I have seen versions that are a lot newer than this one. The two peg boards fit in the heavy duty wooden tray-sorry. No pegs. They each have directions on the back side but pretty much illegible now. The tray size is 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" x 1" The peg boards are 6" square x 3/8" Don't know the date but this looks pretty old to me.maybe 1920s or earlier. A young Picasso decorated the inside of the tray with crayons and added a touch of orange to the outside. This set has definitely seen a lot of action and shows great authentic wear. The back of the tray has age splits and an oil stain. The pictures show all so please check them out. The last ... morepicture shows the neat way the tray was put together. I have here a pleated. Oven hot mit advertising Ideal Farms, Inc. I purchased it from a fellow about 2 years ago. He said he got it out of the bottom of a dollar box lot at an auction in Brunswick, Md. which isn't that far from Frederick where there was an Ideal Farms Dairy. It doesn't say Frederick on it so I can't gaurantee it to be from there. I expect that some of the Frederick Milk Collectors would know about this. The tag on the back says it was made by Advertisers Mfg.Co. and states the cities which can be read in the photos. It is in excellent shape and just slightly soiled. This Auction price is for 1 replacement bale only. This style bale is the replacement for a Ball Ideal or Atlas EZ Seal Older Glass Canning Jar. These work for the jars that have the two opposing dimples with a hole in the middle. At the neck of the jar. Look at my other auction for the style that fits the jars that take the twist style bale. The wire works on pints. Quarts, and half gallon jars with a neck diameter of 2 5/8 inches. There is some rust on the surface that can be cleaned up with sand paper if you don't like the rustic look. This replacement just clips onto the two dimples on the side of the jar neck.

Vintage Ideal Glass Syringes - Lot of 3 - Old Medical Equipment
Lot of 3 glass Ideal Syringes made in the USA. Three class syringes with plungers plus an additional glass plunger. These were found in an old Doc Bag in North Carolina. Two 20 CC and one 30CC. One of the syringe tips appears to have been chipped off. Good vintage condition with signs of age. Please see all photos for details/ condition. Snowflakes, birds, kitchen items like tea kettle, boat, mitten, animals and more. Not all cards are unique. Some are in pairs and a few are triplets Green box is worn but tight. Ideal School Supply Co. Chicago 20, Illinois, Made in U.S.A. I'm guessing these are from 1960's or before. Brings back memories from childhood.
